Wannon MP Dan Tehan pledges $300k for Reid Oval netball shelters ahead of federal election

00:00I can see you all out practising your netball because you're going to be the future of this

00:11netball club, especially if you keep going how you are, so it's fantastic to see.

00:16I thought it would be a very good opportunity to let the netball club know that what we're

00:22going to do is we're going to put $300,000 towards getting shelter and seating right

00:30around these netball courts.

00:34So that means when the south-westerly is blowing in the middle of winter and we're up here

00:41for the finals or even just during the home and away, you'll have much better facilities

00:47and the idea is to make it better than what they've got at Cobden, which we're able to

00:53help them do what, so if you have a look when you play there, they've got lovely shelter

00:59right around their netball courts and can I just thank Bec for everything that she's

01:05done in working with the club.

01:08So we're all here because I got cornered by Wedge last year at a game and Wedge grabbed

01:16me and brought me over here and introduced me to Bec and she was the one who said, look

01:22this is what we really need and having been here a fair few times watching, there is no

01:29doubt that what it is because if we're going to have Hampden League Grand Final here, we

01:33want to make sure that you can put on a really good show because all of you are incredibly

01:40talented and the senior netballers are incredibly talented and you want them to be able to play

01:45at their absolute best and that means having really good conditions so hopefully this will

01:52really, really help and it's great to be able to come here while you're all training and

01:57make this announcement, so thank you.
