00:00Every week, the fastest source of the week segment here on the TDN Writer's Room is brought to you by the fast sires at Windstar Farm.
00:06The stallion we're going to talk about this week is Constitution, who had three two-year-old winners on Saturday and is the number two sire right now of two-year-olds in America.
00:15He's had 26 individual two-year-old winners in 2023, and those have accounted for almost $2.5 million in earnings.
00:24One of those two-year-old winners, here's a name to remember, Parchment Paper.
00:28He's already a TDN Rising Star from his win at Churchill earlier this month.
00:32You go back and look at that race, that is going to turn out, I think, to be a key race for two-year-olds going forward.
00:38Constitution bred 215 graded winners, producers over the past four years, laying a foundation for the future that's already paying off,
00:46with the season topping weanling at Keeneland and making him a top ten sire of yearlings in 2023, and Constitution stands for $110,000 at Windstar Farm.
00:58Now, the fastest horse of the week, it took place on Thanksgiving Day on a rare, at least for this past week, turf race at Churchill Lounge.
01:07It was over a good course. It was the Cardinal Stakes at Churchill.
01:11It was won by a horse named Star Fortress, making her very first start in the United States for trainer Cherie DeVoe and owners John and Tanya Gunther of Justify Fame.
01:22And all that Star Fortress did in her very first start in this country was win a graded stakes race on turf by ten lengths in a 104 buyer speed figure,
01:35which topped all the buyer speed figures for this past week and makes Star Fortress our fastest horse of the week.
