00:00Meanwhile, the Fastest Horse of the Week segment brought to you again by one of the Fast Sires
00:05at Windstar Farm.
00:06The only stallion at Windstar, actually the only stallion in the world, who is a son of
00:11the Red Hot Constitution and as a racehorse, was precocious enough to be undefeated as
00:15a two-year-old.
00:16That would be Independence Hall as a two-year-old.
00:20He won both his starts, including the grade three national mistakes, by a combined 17
00:24and a half lengths.
00:25Then he added a win on New Year's Day in the Jerome in Aqueduct.
00:27He got a 101 byer in the Nashua, the highest that year for any two-year-old, and he came
00:33back as a four-year-old to run a 105 byer, winning the grade two Fayette at Keeneland.
00:38Independence Hall has its first yearlings this year, and he stands at Windstar for $10,000.
00:44Fastest Horse of the Week came courtesy of a Thursday allowance race, a sprint at Aqueduct,
00:50and that would be Joey Freshwater, four-year-old son of Jimmy Creed, trained by Linda Rice,
00:55who was eligible for the non-winners of three other than condition, scored by three and
00:59three quarters lengths under Jose Lascano, six-foot-longs, 109.57 seconds.
01:05Joey Freshwater, a sometimes anxious and quirky colt, best known for winning the grade three
01:11Bayshore stakes almost exactly a year ago at Aqueduct.
01:16That was four races after he was claimed for $50,000 as a two-year-old by Winning Move
01:20Stables.
01:21Steve Sigler, Joey Freshwater, clicking on all cylinders last week, career-high byer
01:25speed figure of 105.
01:28One more thing briefly.
01:30Last week, I mentioned my trivia question.
01:32We were talking about fierceness in his 110 byer speed figure in the Florida Derby, and
01:36remember, I asked when the last time any horse in the field of the Kentucky Derby had run
01:42a career-high byer speed figure as high as 110.
01:46I said, we have the answer at the end of the show.
01:48I forgot.
01:49So I've given you a whole week to think about it.
01:51The correct answer would be another horse trained by Todd Fletcher, ridden by John Velazquez
01:57in the Florida Derby, and that would be Materiality, who won the 2015 Florida Derby with a 110
02:04byer speed figure, then got in trouble at the start in American Pharaohs Kentucky Derby
02:08and ran sixth.
