00:00In this episode of Following Around we meet Queen's Trust, a Breeders' Cup winner for
00:08owner Breeders' Shevely Park stud. Queen's Trust has now had two foals, a filly and a
00:12colt who are both by Kingman. John Marsh, senior manager at the stud, introduces us
00:18to them both.
00:20She was a later maturing filly. I remember she won her first start at Kenton very nicely
00:28which sort of got everyone going. But Michael took his time with her, which was correct
00:36to do obviously, her late developing family. She progressed and progressed and ended up
00:42going to the Breeders' Cup which was a little bit different, shall we say, to have a runner
00:51in the Breeders' Cup and to win it was just amazing.
00:58Mrs Thompson decided that she wanted her to be here so we could manage her, which we did
01:04and thankfully she conceived a Kingman.
01:07He's a very good sire. He's a lot of pace, good looking horse, commercially sound, they
01:17make a lot of money. So as we tend to race most of our fillies and offer the vast majority
01:27of our colts, we have to think of one with a commercial hat on as well. So that was another
01:33decision in the pot and he was the right one we thought.
01:38Her first foal is now yearling. She's a lovely big filly, well grown, strong, athletic. We
01:46couldn't be happier with her. She'll be here carrying on the line for a long time so that's
01:52very good news. The second foal is a colt who is also a nice colt. Again, good movement
02:01and now we're thrilled.
02:04We are sending her back again to Kingman for the third time, rightly or wrongly, but we
02:10can't sort of sneeze on her first two foals, they're both good foals.
