00:00The Sessions Court granted former Navy Chief Ahmad Ramli Noor a discharge not amounting

00:06to an acquittal for three counts of criminal breach of trust related to the littoral combat

00:11ship project.

00:13Judge Susana Hussein granted the DNAA after considering lawyer Yusuf Zainal Abidin's

00:18oral application and a medical report on Ramli's mental capacity.

00:23The court found Ramli unfit for trial and ordered the return of his bail money.

00:29Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Mahadi Abdul Jumaat stated that the Attorney General's

00:34chambers had rejected Ramli's representation letter and was prepared to proceed with the

00:38trial.

00:39However, Yusuf argued that Ramli, diagnosed with a progressive neurodegenerative disorder

00:46consistent with moderate mixed dementia, was unable to defend himself.

00:51The High Court had earlier sent the case back to the Sessions Court to evaluate Ramli's

00:54mental fitness, leading to a psychiatric evaluation at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

01:00Ramli, charged on August 16, 2022, was accused of fraudulently approving 21.08 million ringgit

01:07in three payments to three different firms without the approval of the Bostad Naval Shipyard

01:12Board.
