00:00The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has decided not to suspend the
00:06broadcasting license of Maestra Broadcast Sindoran Berhad, the operator of Era FM, after
00:11reviewing the company's appeal.
00:14In a statement, the MCMC said it initially issued a Notice of Intent to Suspend Maestra
00:19Broadcast's License on March 7.
00:22However, it said after reviewing the company's appeal and considering several factors, including
00:28corrective actions taken by the license holder and a formal apology from the parties involved,
00:33the Commission opted against suspending the license.
00:37The MCMC said it also took into account the potential impact on other radio stations operating
00:43under the same license, namely Melody and Mix FM.
00:47The Commission said Maestra Broadcast was fined RM250,000 for violating Section 233
00:53of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities.
