00:00A former DAP Assemblyman has urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to probe allegations

00:07of vote-buying in the run-up to the party's elections for its Central Executive Committee

00:14In a statement, Satis Muniandi said the anti-graft agency could not turn a blind eye to the allegations,

00:21adding that it must take decisive action on the matter.

00:24He also said he was prepared to lodge an official complaint to demand accountability.

00:29Satis, who is now with URIME, said he was told by a live member of DAP that vote-buying

00:34had allegedly crept into the election process for top leadership posts.

00:39He said delegates were allegedly being offered cash in the guise of travel allowances and

00:44a weekend stay at a five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

00:47According to multiple sources, he said, a Penang MP and Assemblyman were purportedly

00:52involved in securing votes for their political superior.

00:56He said a five-star hotel has reportedly been booked almost entirely to accommodate

01:01these delegates, who are expected to vote as instructed, with some offered a luxurious

01:06stay and cash incentives of up to RM1,000.
