00:00Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul has chided opposition MPs for wasting valuable time by
00:07asking questions on the same issues and posing irrelevant queries in the Dewan Rakyat.
00:13Johari said he needs to be firm in ensuring that parliamentary sittings run smoothly and
00:18serve their intended purpose, Barita Harian reported.
00:22He added that if opposition MPs want to engage in politics, they should do so outside the
00:27Dewan Rakyat.
00:29Johari said he and his two deputies are responsible for ensuring the parliamentary agenda is carried
00:34out as planned, adding that if they entertain politically charged questions, sittings would
00:39be concluded at midnight.
00:41Yesterday, opposition leader Hamza Zainudin told a press conference the opposition would
00:46organize a nationwide tour to amplify the people's voice and for its MPs to express
00:51their views if they are unable to do so in the Dewan Rakyat.
00:56Hamza lamented that opposition MPs were no longer free to voice their opinions and were
01:00instead treated like school children subjected to various restrictions.
