00:00Civil servants from grade 15 and below under the Public Service Remuneration System, as

00:06well as grade 56 and below under the previous remuneration scheme, will be given 500 ringgit

00:12in special IDF aid.

00:14Anwar said government retirees will also get 250 ringgit in special cash aid.

00:19He said the initiative will cost the government about 900 million ringgit.

00:23The cash aid will be dispersed from next week.

00:26The first day of Eid al-Fitr is expected to fall on March 31st.

00:30In a statement, the Finance Ministry said the government decided to distribute the special

00:35aid given the expenditure celebrants would incur to prepare for the festive season.

00:40It said the expansion of Putrajaya's sources of revenue in restructuring its finances has

00:44given the treasury some room to share its revenue.

00:48The ministry said the special aid will benefit more than 2 million civil servants and government

00:52retirees.

00:54It also said the payments for Phase 2 of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahma VIII scheme has been

00:58brought forward.

00:59STR aid will be distributed to its 9 million recipients from Monday.

01:03A total of 1.7 billion ringgit will be disbursed.
