00:00The Department of Agriculture will cooperate with the Japan International Cooperation Agency

00:05for the possible construction of a post-harvest facility that is worth Php 11 billion.

00:11According to the DA, aside from being of great help to farmers,

00:15it will also lower the price of rice.

00:22The Department of Agriculture is already in talks with the Japan International Cooperation Agency, or JICA,

00:30for the possible Php 11 billion project for the post-harvest facility for rice

00:35that will be supported by the National Food Authority and other partner rice cooperatives and associations.

00:41We are talking about a possible project, the post-harvest facility for rice,

00:49for dryers and rice mills that will support the National Food Authority and our cooperatives and associations.

00:58This can start in 2026 or 2027.

01:01The study for the project is already underway.

01:05It will help local farmers and is expected to help lower the price of rice.

01:11Aside from this, the DA is cooperating for the exportation of tropical products in Japan

01:16and Japan will help in the production of raw materials.

01:20Meanwhile, in an interview with the National Food Authority Administrator Larry Lackson,

01:25the NFA raised the Php 10 billion modernization program for the NFA warehouse.

01:31The first Php 5 billion will be used for the construction of warehouses.

01:35It aims to fix our stocking in each region and to have sufficient rice in each region.

01:43The logistics cost of rice in each region will be greatly reduced once the project is completed.

01:49The target for December 2027 is that the modernization is completed.

01:53The NFA also reported that the target of eight-day buffer stocking of NFA rice was met in December of last year.

02:00The NFA plans to reach the target of 15 days.

02:03In order to continue to lower the price of pork in the market,

02:07even though the supermarkets are not in the cloud of pork MSRP,

02:10the DA is already coordinating with the supermarkets to lower the price of pork here.
