00:00Abotkayang Bigas by the National Food Authority has started selling to some local farmers.

00:08The Agriculture Department has confirmed that the supply of NFA is enough for those who want to buy.

00:20Early in the morning, Tate Enselmo went to the driveway of San Juan City Hall.

00:26This is so that he can buy cheaper but better quality rice from the National Food Authority.

00:33It's cheap compared to other rice, it's expensive.

00:39This is cheap, so let's just buy it.

00:42As long as we can eat rice.

00:44Before this happened, he was buying it for 60 pesos per kilo in the market.

00:49That's when he found out that there's 33 pesos worth of rice in their city hall, he immediately agreed.

00:56In San Juan City, Abotkayang NFA Rice started selling today.

01:01This is the first time the city has shown interest in selling Abotkayang Bigas by the National Food Authority.

01:08For 1,650 pesos per sack or 50 kilos, local governments can buy rice from the NFA.

01:16That's equivalent to 33 pesos per kilo.

01:20It can be sold by the LGU for up to 35 pesos per kilo.

01:24Today is the first day of its sale in San Juan City Hall.

01:27The rice was brought to the hallway of their municipality.

01:30And it was sold per sack.

01:33For now, we sell per sack.

01:36But we can adjust accordingly if there's a demand.

01:40Because our initial 1,000 sacks are fully allocated because we pre-registered.

01:46Zamora also bought from the Metro Manila Council, which is counted by the city mayors in the NCR,

01:52that the LGUs should not increase the minimum price of the NFA rice.

01:57This program is also supported by the Department of Agriculture despite the high price of rice in the market.

02:04This is also the fruit of the declaration of the National Food Emergency on rice.

02:09The DA also promised that the supply of rice from the National Food Authority will be sufficient.

02:15We have a lot of stocks in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Isabela.

02:23It's ready to ship here anytime.

02:25Our limitation is 150,000 sacks per warehouse here in Venezuela.

02:31As it is depleted, it is going to be replenished.

02:35The DA believes that this program will be the reason to lower the price of rice in the markets.

02:42Meanwhile, because of the losses in the rice in a Kadiwa store in Queso City,

02:47the government is more committed to maintaining the rice.

02:51Aside from Metro Manila, it is also expected that cheaper rice will be sold in the provinces.

02:57Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, and Isabela are already on the line.
