We went out into the city to ask people for their favourite place in Greater Manchester, whether it be a cafe or a whole town. Here is what they said.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name's Theo Kusinvets and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about their favourite parts of Manchester.
00:07Now, people could approach this from many different ways. We could be talking about whole districts. There are 10 distinct districts in Greater Manchester, each with their own cultural significance and unique history.
00:17Or they could go really small and say somewhere specifically like Stephensland Square, or a cafe in the Northern Quarter, or somewhere near Spinningfield.
00:25There are tons of different ways to take it, but basically what we want to know is what makes Manchester special to that person. So, let's go out and see what people have said.
00:33I thought the Northern Quarter. It's a bit growing into the food and the shops. It's quite nice around there.
00:38Yeah, it's just independent. You've not got your big chains and stuff around it. It's all up with the quirky places really, isn't it, around there?
00:44There's a clothing shop called Gone Fishing around the corner. It's meant to be quiet, but I go there all the time.
00:49I'll have to go with Saddleworth then.
00:51What's Saddleworth?
00:52One, it's where I grew up. It's a really nice area. Plenty to do. It's nice and green.
00:59You've only got dust storms, but I feel like walking around and whatnot gets a bit busy now, but up and mills, good for eating, food.
01:09Courbiers. I just love the layout. It's one of my favourite bars in Manchester. It's like an undergrown Star Wars bar, in my opinion.
01:18Oh, from about 15 years ago. Good music, good jukebox. Underground Star Wars bar for me.
01:25If you're thinking Manchester, I quite like where we're going now, off of Oxford Road. It's sort of near where Circle Square, where we know it as, where the old BBC building was.
01:35Up round there, I like that. It's just, it's always changing. There's lots of good bars there. It's easy to get to and get in and out of.
01:45It's a lot of university students, so it just feels a bit younger and there's a bit more energy to it.
01:51Like the Northern Quarter, I remember it when it was not very nice. And yes, I know it's all a bit trendy now, but I still remember it as that, so that's my favourite bit.
02:01Place would you say?
02:02Well, actually the bar, what's the hotel on the Palace on the corner? That's really nice now. And that used to be a bit of a dive, but they sort of, the building itself was quite nice.
02:14And they've done that up and it's just, yeah, if I'd go there during the day at night time, Manchester gets so busy. The sort of daytime is fine, yeah.
02:22So there you have it. There's a massive range of things to do across Greater Manchester, from Rochdale to Oldham to Saddleworth to the Northern Quarter.
02:29There are amazing things to do. For me personally, if I've got half hour to kill, we did a video recently on Deadstock General Store, which is the perfect little shop to kill some time.
02:38And if it's somewhere that I want to go for a coffee or a little drink, 200 degrees down the road from the Piccadilly Gardens is absolutely awesome.
02:46And there's a whole bunch of other wonderful local cafes too. So get out there, give them a go.
02:51Let us know what your favourite thing to do is in Manchester and where your favourite place to be is and follow Manchester World for more.
