00:00Some of our countrymen witnessed their close encounter with Pope Francis.
00:05A Eucharistic Vigil was held for the coming of the Holy Father.
00:09Jesse Atienza of PTV Cebu will give you the details.
00:16People were excited and standing up as Pope Francis approached and talked to them one by one.
00:22That's what the cellphone video of the charismatic community leader, Faye, captured.
00:28But there was nothing more than her portrait with Pope Francis.
00:33The portraits with Pope Francis were displayed in Faye's office.
00:38She will never forget the rare opportunity to talk to Grandpa Kiko.
00:43Not just once, but twice.
00:47First, in 2017, when Faye introduced her friend to the Holy Father.
00:54He introduced me to the Pope and telling the Pope that my advocacy is about drug addiction.
00:59And the Pope said, yes, I've heard about the war on drugs in the Philippines.
01:07And the Pope said, I can't remember how Monsignor Gian Limchua interpreted to me.
01:15The Pope said, that is very important.
01:17So that word is very striking to me.
01:20And to me, it was an affirmation that what I'm doing is really something that the Lord is pleased.
01:28So until now, I continue doing it, helping people who wanted to recover from drugs through faith-based.
01:36According to Faye, the moments she spent with the Holy Father were special.
01:41The encounter was very special that I forgot all about what I was carrying.
01:46I was caught in awe.
01:49I felt like I was floating in the clouds.
01:53I was meeting somebody that I cannot really understand what I was feeling at that moment.
01:59It's really a very heavenly feeling.
02:03As the National Coordinator of the Charismatic Renewal International Service led by Pope Francis,
02:10the Holy Father had a great influence on the new era, especially to the Filipinos.
02:16The visit of Pope Francis in Tacloban was very significant to me.
02:21It's like God visiting us at the time of calamity, at the time of crisis,
02:26when people are dying, when people are suffering.
02:30And he took time to come to the Philippines.
02:33So whatever happens to the Pope,
02:38I would really treasure his life, being our Pope, to the life of us Filipinos.
02:50A Eucharistic vigil for the recovery of Pope Francis was organized by the Archdiocese of Cebu
02:55led by Archbishop Jose Palma.
02:58At present, the Holy Father is under treatment for bilateral pneumonia.
03:03At the last medical bulletin of the Vatican, Pope Francis was stable.
03:08He also did not experience a respiratory crisis.
03:11He was able to sit in his armchair and was able to talk to the parish priest of Gaza.
03:17From PTV Cebu, Jesse Atienza for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
