00:00President Marcos Jr. recognized the great role of Filipino films in the development of the country's cinema and culture.

00:06Next is a concert held in Palacio that was attended by famous and talented artists.

00:12This is Clayzar Pardilla of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.

00:31Filled with idols and stars, the audience of Malacanitza, the 5th edition of the concert in Palacio,

00:40present the biggest and most popular stars in television and film tabloids.

00:47For Filipino films, the theme is pre-holiday celebration.

00:57gave a great contribution of the Philippine film industry to the development of our cinema and culture.

01:05The event was held in the 50th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival

01:12as a support for the 10 films to be released in cinemas this Christmas.

01:18In 2020, there was no traditional release of MFF entries in cinemas due to the pandemic.

01:26That is why it is important to support and bring back the past glory of the films.

01:32We appreciate this. This is a big help.

01:35Especially for the Filipino films, whatever help it is, we will appreciate it.

01:40It is a big thing that we know that there is support from the government, especially from our President.

01:45It's my first time here and I'm just really happy that they really support Philippine cinema.

01:51But aside from the taquilla, not only the Filipino films give joy,

01:56but also work and livelihood from the writers, directors and workers in front and behind the camera.

02:04It is very important that we give honor and importance to our film industry

02:11because it gives livelihood to our fellow Filipinos.

02:16And that this gives opportunities for our fellow Filipinos in the rest of the world

02:20to discover the beauty of our country and the talent of the Filipino people.

02:24It proves once and for all that this is one administration that does not just merely give lip service.

02:30It's not merely a set of promises.

02:32It's not merely reaching out to the Philippine film industry when there is something needed from the people of the industry.

02:39Here we see a deliberate and concentrated and concerted effort of the administration

02:46to really help the film industry which is in dire need of the support of the government.

02:51At the same time, it was given the opportunity to get to know some Filipino singers,

02:56actors and other artists who performed in Palacio.

03:03This was initiated by the Office of the President and Radyo Telebisyon Malacanang.
