00:00at the Ria Hotel in Las Vegas, here's our host, Russ Burr.
00:29Welcome to Fool Us, magic can make us question so many important aspects of life.
00:47Do I fully understand gravity?
00:49Do I have free will?
00:50Can he find my card?
00:52Well tonight, we've gathered the world's best magicians to answer another important question.
00:58Can they fool Penn and Teller?
01:00Well let's find out as we bring out the unquestionably great Penn and Teller.
01:12Any magician who stumps Penn and Teller wins a slot in their world-famous magic show.
01:31A shiny Fool Us trophy and an entitled smugness that comes with that trophy.
01:37So let's meet our first potential fooler.
01:40Hi, I'm Juan Luis Rubiales from Spain and I'm in love with magic.
01:47My wife jokes there are three people in our marriage, her, me, and magic.
01:53I invent all my tricks, no one else knows how to do them.
01:59Once I was stopped by the police.
02:01They questioned why I have such strange props and so I performed a 40-minute show on the
02:08hood of my car.
02:10No ticket, just applause.
02:13My wife didn't believe it until I showed her the thank you email from the police.
02:19Tonight I reflect on my family's sacrifices for my passion and I hope to win a trophy
02:25tonight so my wife can see that showing me with magic has been worth it.
02:32Here to take a stab at fooling Penn and Teller is Juan Luis Rubiales.
02:44Hello everybody, hello Penn.
02:46How you doing?
02:47Good to see you, good to see you Teller.
02:49Okay, since I'm from Spain, what will we do?
02:53Card tricks.
02:54Card tricks, okay.
02:55I'm going to do, but it's a special card trick because I invented this trick and this
03:00is a brand new trick and a brand new deck and I should stop eating my nails.
03:08Don't worry, I'm from Spain.
03:11I'm prepared.
03:13I'm prepared.
03:15Let me open this.
03:19Oh, wrong way.
03:21It's the gelato, sorry.
03:23I will do it.
03:25Then, I'm going to do the trick.
03:31Maybe you, maybe you have another deck?
03:36I don't.
03:39Let's tell you an history, yeah?
03:42Okay, it's not an history.
03:44I have adventures with a very wild knife.
03:47I call this knife the wild white knife.
03:50Do you know why?
03:52Because it's a white knife?
03:53Yeah.
03:54And it's wild because it seems to be in one place.
03:59When it's really into another.
04:03And for that, I call this the...
04:05Oh, did you see the other one?
04:08Okay.
04:10He saw it.
04:11I have two.
04:13Yeah, but this one is the quiet one because it's red, yeah?
04:17Only one is wild, okay?
04:19The wild one is the white.
04:21Not the red, but the white, yeah?
04:23This is the wild one because it's white, yeah?
04:26Which one is this?
04:27The white one.
04:28No, no, this is the red one.
04:29Then, this is the quiet one.
04:30And if I have here the red one, which one do I have on my other hand?
04:35I guess the white one.
04:36No, no, this is green.
04:40Okay, and if I have here the green, which one do I have here?
04:45No, no, I have nothing here because it's always into my pocket.
04:51Let me close it because I know my scent and I'm going to get hurt myself, okay?
04:56I'm going to close it.
04:57I have to tell you something.
04:58What happens is that these knives can change color, but not any color.
05:02If I want that this one change into blue, I cannot do that.
05:08If I want that this turn into yellow, neither.
05:12Because they can change color between them.
05:15That means if I want the red turn into the white, the white one will turn into...
05:20You don't believe me, do you?
05:23Okay, I will do it without closing the hands.
05:26And bit by bit, watch.
05:27I just need to move bit by bit, bit by bit, bit by bit, bit by bit.
05:32Look, it's almost the half.
05:34The other side the same.
05:35I just need to move like that.
05:38And now I have here the white one and I have here the red one.
05:43I can do it also with the green one.
05:45Watch.
05:46The green on my hand, the white on the pocket.
05:49One, two, three.
05:51And now I have here the white one because the green one is always where?
05:57Into the pocket.
05:59But maybe you are thinking, it's not wild, they don't change color.
06:04It's just a slate of hands.
06:11No, it's magic, it's magic.
06:14Let's do this.
06:15I'm going to take the white, the red and the green.
06:19And I'm going to cover them with a handkerchief.
06:22And now watch.
06:23I'm going to take one of these.
06:25This is the white one.
06:26I'm going to make some room.
06:28This is the white, yeah?
06:29Then I have here the...
06:35Did I put the white on the top or not?
06:37Okay, let's do it again.
06:39I have the red and the green.
06:41Then I have...
06:42No, this is the green and this is the white.
06:46And these are the adventures of the wild, wild...
07:06Put it down.
07:16Juan Luis Rubiales, we have a ruler.
07:29Congratulations.
07:34Juan Luis Rubiales.
07:39Wow, that happened fast.
07:41Juan Luis Rubiales has claimed a trophy.
07:44Stay tuned for more enchanting acts after the commercial break.
08:00Welcome back.
08:01So far tonight, it's Foolers 1, Penn & Teller 0.
08:05Let's see if this next act can score a trophy.
08:10My name is Anya Stain and I'm 17 years old.
08:13Strange as it sounds, the pandemic opened up the world of magic to me.
08:17I'm from South Africa, not exactly the center of the magic world.
08:21But when the pandemic struck, a lot of the magic conventions started happening online.
08:26Suddenly, I could plug into magic all around the world.
08:30Two years later, I somehow convinced my dad to book us tickets
08:35so we could fly all the way to the U.S.
08:38My first ever in-person magic convention
08:42and it was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had.
08:45They had a contest there for both close-up and stage categories
08:49and I competed in both categories and I ended up winning both of them.
08:53So now all these people all around the world are helping me with my magic
08:57as well as my mentors back home.
08:59Penn & Teller, with everyone's help from all around the world,
09:03do I now have what it takes to fool you?
09:06Only one way to find out.
09:13Give it up for 17-year-old South African sensation, Anya.
09:26Fate and chance.
09:28Two words that are used interchangeably by some people,
09:32but I don't see them that way.
09:34To me, fate is predetermined, it's destiny.
09:38Something that by some force or almighty power is bound to happen
09:42in one exact place at one exact time.
09:45Whereas chance is spontaneous, chance is free.
09:48Something that could happen at any place at any time.
09:52But that's just how I see it.
09:54Both fate and chance are magical in their own ways.
09:58I'm about to show you something that could be fate or it could be chance.
10:03Watch and draw your own conclusions.
10:06Penn, to start us off, I need you to make a very, very important decision.
10:12Do you want the red pill or the blue pill?
10:15I'll take the blue pill.
10:17The blue one, perfect.
10:19Just hold on to the blue one, thank you, and we'll use the red one.
10:23Now, Brooke, what I need you to do is I need you to deal the cards
10:28one by one face up on the table like this.
10:32And whenever you want to, I want you to leave the next one face down.
10:36Okay.
10:38We'll give the cards a little mix.
10:40One by one face up, and then when I want to, one down.
10:43Okay, we're ready?
10:44Yes, just deal them one by one face up until you want to leave one face down.
10:48And the reason we're doing this is that face down card will be your card.
10:52That way it'll be random, random meaning unknown to you and unknown to me.
10:56Okay.
10:57Do you want that one?
10:58Yes, please.
10:59Are you sure?
11:00Yes.
11:01Perfect.
11:02May I have the cards back?
11:04Now, had you gone one more, you could have had the four of clubs.
11:08In fact, you could have had any of these cards,
11:11but you chose to stop at that one specific card.
11:16Why is that?
11:17Did it feel like some unknown force was telling you to stop at that card?
11:21Was it a gut feeling, or do you think it was free will?
11:25Some unknown force.
11:27Yeah?
11:28Unknown force, good.
11:30Well, let's see what card you have stopped at.
11:33It should be the only one that is face up.
11:37The five of diamonds.
11:41Now I wonder, did you stop at that card because it really was free will,
11:47or because it was always meant to be?
11:50Well, let's find out.
11:51Penn, you've been holding onto the blue deck this whole time, correct?
11:54I sure have.
11:55I haven't touched it since I gave it to you, correct?
11:57No, you have not.
11:58All right, I want you to please undo the zip and take out the deck of cards.
12:03Zipper undone.
12:05You may give me the holder.
12:07The holder, yes.
12:08Please take out the deck of cards and spread them face up on the table over here.
12:13Face up on the table over here?
12:15Yes, please.
12:17There's face up, and I'll spread them face up.
12:21I'm left-handed, so it's a little harder, but I'll do what I can.
12:24And there should be one card that is turned.
12:27It looks like there's one card face down.
12:29That is face down.
12:30Can you confirm?
12:31Yes, only one.
12:32I'm going to see it.
12:33Yeah, there's only one face down.
12:34Now, think of it.
12:37Could this one card possibly match Brooke's five of diamonds?
12:42Could I have possibly predicted what color cards you would select
12:46and have predicted what single randomly selected card you would stop at?
12:52Now, some of you might think it's fate.
12:54Some of you might think it's chance.
12:56Either way, it's magic.
13:04Anya, wow.
13:06Thank you so much.
13:07Thank you so much.
13:09Anya, you're only 17, but you seemed like a seasoned pro.
13:13Thank you so much.
13:14How long have you been a magician?
13:15I've been a magician since I was about nine years old,
13:19but I've only really been performing this much for like two, three years maybe.
13:24Do you think you're a natural performer,
13:26or was it hard for you to get on stage for the first time?
13:29When I was younger, I was really, really shy,
13:31and I used to stutter a lot as well.
13:34Magic was kind of the thing that got me out of my shell
13:38and got me into a comfort zone.
13:41It was really difficult in the beginning,
13:43and sometimes now it's still difficult,
13:45but this is what I enjoy doing,
13:47and this is how I express myself,
13:49how someone might sing or paint a picture that I do magic.
13:53You're so confident.
13:54You're so articulate.
13:55It's really wonderful.
13:56Thank you so much.
13:57You did a fantastic job.
13:58It's amazing.
14:03All right, Anya, let's say a fate or chance have a trophy for you.
14:07Are you ready?
14:08I'm ready.
14:09Okay. Penn and Teller?
14:10Oh, you know, the temptation is to say how wonderful and poised you are
14:16for someone who's 17 years old,
14:18but that would be unfair to you
14:20because you are poised and a wonderful performer.
14:23If you were our age, you were just fabulous all the way through.
14:27It's a wonderful, wonderful trick,
14:30and the audience clearly loved it.
14:32We loved it too.
14:33It's great to be right up there, right with you.
14:36Brooke had that totally free choice.
14:38You could have stopped anywhere, Brooke.
14:39You really could have.
14:40And here's where our job gets a little rough
14:44because we have to be a little bit hypocritical,
14:46a little bit two-faced because we praise you,
14:49and then we've got to kind of play the game.
14:50And forgive us for that, please.
14:52But this is a version we think could be of Open Prediction by Paul Curry.
14:58It's so clean, so nice, and you do it just beautifully.
15:02And if we're right about it being a version of that Paul Curry trick,
15:07I also think I slipped in a couple of words there
15:10that might mean a little something to you,
15:13but we just love the performance, and so did the audience.
15:17We don't think you fooled us,
15:19but if none of those words mean anything,
15:21we've got to have another think.
15:23Anya, what do you think?
15:25They got me.
15:26You were wonderful.
15:30We really enjoyed having you.
15:31Good luck to you.
15:33Thank you for having me.
15:34Thank you so much.
15:35Come back and see us.
15:36Anya, everyone.
15:43We've got more fantastic magicians for you,
15:45including our finale performed by Penn & Teller themselves,
15:49so stay close.
16:02Welcome back.
16:03Let's meet our next incredible magician.
16:08I love social media.
16:10You only get a split second to grab their attention,
16:13so you have to be quick.
16:15So I spent a lot of time creating sharp visual tricks.
16:19I used to love performing on my phone,
16:21but then I realized I can't see these people.
16:24I can't connect with them.
16:26It's not real.
16:27My inspiration flickered and was going out,
16:31so I started performing anywhere I could in the real world.
16:34I got addicted to live reactions.
16:37I wrote a show with two of my best friends,
16:39and we performed it all over the UK.
16:41That's how I built up the confidence to be on Fool Us.
16:44It's a really big deal for me.
16:46Fool Us was where my magic journey began.
16:48My dad and I started watching right from season one.
16:51I was just a kid, but I tried to perform every trick I saw.
16:55Dad will be watching at home tonight
16:58with me on the other side of the screen.
17:00No matter what happens, that's a gift.
17:03All the way from the UK, the daring magic of Luke Osey.
17:11Good evening, Las Vegas. How are we feeling?
17:14Yeah!
17:16My name is Luke Osey,
17:18and tonight I'm going to show you something
17:21a little bit dangerous.
17:24Using one of these,
17:27This right here is a mousetrap.
17:29Now, I collect animal traps, similarly to Penn and Teller.
17:33A couple of years ago, I learned I could do something
17:35pretty spectacular with just one of these traps.
17:38So first things first, we'll set the trap.
17:41And we're now ready for my mousetrap trick.
17:48I'm only kidding, it's not that kind of show!
17:51It is a mousetrap.
17:54I'm only kidding, it's not that kind of show!
17:56It is insane how excited you folks got, though.
18:00We're going to do it on my tongue instead.
18:05Guys, do not try stopping me, OK?
18:07I do not need this review.
18:09Here we go. Mousetrap on the tongue.
18:15See, the thing is, mice and humans, we're quite similar, really.
18:19I mean, mice are attracted to small blocks of cheese on wooden boards.
18:23And so are we.
18:26Here we go.
18:37That is the mousetrap on the tongue trick, thank you very much!
18:41So, Penn and Teller, did I fool you?
18:44I'm only kidding. There is something else which I wanted to try out.
18:47But for this, I need all of your help in welcoming back to the stage your amazing host.
18:51Please give it up for Brooke Burke!
18:55Hi, Brooke. How's it going?
18:57Going great.
18:58Awesome. I have a pen for you. Could you uncap that for me?
19:00Sure.
19:01We're going to make this trap just a little bit more unique.
19:03So I want you to sign it in this area right here, OK?
19:05I'll hold the trap.
19:06On this part?
19:07Yeah, perfect.
19:08Now the pink bit is my thumb.
19:10OK, perfect.
19:11If you could recap the pen and hold onto that, that would be brilliant.
19:13Sure.
19:14We can now all see Brooke's signed mousetrap.
19:18We're going to take your trap, Brooke, because this time we're going to set it again.
19:22And I'm not going to put it on my tongue.
19:24Yeah, I can put it on my tongue.
19:26Yeah, we are.
19:27Yeah, here comes the choo-choo train.
19:29I hope you have the pen.
19:30See, Brooke, along with this trap, I also brought my collection of 80 other mousetraps.
19:36OK.
19:37I've collected these over the years, and most of them are set.
19:40So we're going to be rather careful.
19:42I'm going to add your trap to the mix.
19:45OK.
19:51I'm going to give the traps a little shuffle.
19:56It's OK, I didn't want them anyways.
19:58And none of them are your signed ones, so we're fine.
20:00Brooke, I'm going to ask you to take one little step back just there and a little bit to my right.
20:04OK.
20:05Perfect.
20:06And hold onto this nice and carefully.
20:07It is a little bit heavy, so be careful.
20:09I've got it.
20:10Put it on the side so you've got a good grip on it, yeah?
20:11Are you scaring me?
20:12You'll be fine.
20:13In a moment, Brooke, you're going to throw every single mousetrap at me.
20:18OK.
20:19More specifically, at my hand right here.
20:21OK.
20:22And I'm going to attempt to catch your trap in mid-air.
20:25OK.
20:26And as an audience together, we're going to count down from five to one.
20:30And when I say now, and only when I say now, Brooke, you're going to bring those traps to me, OK?
20:35Throw them all in the air.
20:36OK.
20:37Sure.
20:38Audience, are we ready?
20:42Yes.
20:43Brooke, are you ready?
20:45I'm ready.
20:50Five, four, three, two, one.
20:55Now!
21:01Brooke, I caught a trap!
21:02And you're right to hold your applause until you see the signature.
21:07Go away.
21:09Brooke, can you come here and confirm that is your signed mousetrap?
21:13That is my mousetrap.
21:15That is my mousetrap.
21:18That's a mousetrap trick.
21:19Oh my gosh.
21:21OK, let's chat.
21:23Yeah, let's.
21:24First of all, how's the tongue?
21:26The tongue is fine.
21:27Yeah, the tongue's doing well.
21:29That was crazy.
21:30And dangerous.
21:31A little bit, yeah.
21:32How did you think that putting a mousetrap on your tongue was a good idea?
21:38So funnily enough, me and my flatmate were just sat in my lounge
21:42and there was a mousetrap on the floor because we had a mouse problem.
21:45And I picked it up and I said to him,
21:48how much do you reckon it would hurt if I put this on my tongue?
21:50He said, a lot.
21:51I was like, there's only one way to find out really, isn't there?
21:53And just snapped it straight on there.
21:54And you did it.
21:55For real?
21:56Yeah.
21:57Don't try it at home.
21:58It goes without saying.
21:59I think.
22:00Are many of your tricks dangerous like this?
22:03At the moment, I'm actually working on things like sawing in half and stuff.
22:06Oh, I love that.
22:07But I'm the one getting sawn in half.
22:09Okay, Luke.
22:10Let's see if Penn and Teller can figure out how you caught my mousetrap on your finger.
22:14Boys?
22:15Luke, welcome to the show.
22:17We love having you on.
22:18It's so nice to see you here.
22:19So great.
22:20And I'll tell you, you know exactly how to do something to please us.
22:24We've done a lot of tricks with animal traps,
22:26which shows you that's where our heart is.
22:28It's a wonderful, scary, terrific prop.
22:31And you came up with something that we never did.
22:33We never did anything like this.
22:35And it's really good and really smart and really active.
22:39And it's the right level of scary, you know.
22:42It's not like people are worried about you losing your life,
22:45and yet it does have the bravery involved.
22:48And you stuck a mousetrap on your tongue and on your finger.
22:52You're like the Man of Steel.
22:54Yeah.
22:55But instead of a cape, you have a jacket, and it's a very nice jacket.
22:58I don't know.
22:59Is it a designer jacket?
23:00I can't.
23:01Of course, I can't see the label.
23:02But it's a wonderful, wonderful jacket.
23:05And we loved the act very, very much, Luke.
23:08It was just terrific.
23:09Thank you very much.
23:12Do you think they figured out how you did the trick?
23:14They know exactly what I did.
23:16Honestly, it's been a dream of mine to come on the show.
23:19Thank you so much, guys.
23:21You did well.
23:22Luke Oseas, thank you so much.
23:25That's definitely scary.
23:28Oh, snap.
23:31We're going to take a break.
23:32More Fool Us after this.
23:47Welcome back to Fool Us,
23:48where we showcase the most exceptional magicians in the world,
23:51like this next one.
23:53Hi, I'm Joshua Kenneth, and I'm from Galicia, Spain.
23:57My magic is very influenced by the old alchemists, druids, or shamans.
24:03I think when you perform magic, the most important thing is the atmosphere.
24:07I like my magic to be very impossible,
24:10but it has to be easy to understand and cool to see.
24:15This has been my best year as a magician.
24:18And now, I'm in Vegas for the first time
24:20to perform for two of the greatest magicians alive.
24:24For tonight's trick, I wanted to work with an element
24:27that's already magical by itself.
24:29Something that can disappear in a moment,
24:31but so beautiful that it can leave an impression for a lifetime.
24:35Pen Teller, sit back, relax, and enjoy.
24:48Here to delight and astound is Spanish magician Joshua Kenneth.
25:18PEN TELLER
25:48PEN TELLER
26:18PEN TELLER
26:48PEN TELLER
27:18PEN TELLER
27:48PEN TELLER
28:18PEN TELLER
28:48PEN TELLER
29:19PEN TELLER
29:35Joshua Kenneth!
29:41So your name is Joshua Kenneth, and you're from Spain.
29:44That's not a very Spanish name.
29:46It's not. No, no, my dad is English, yeah.
29:48My mother is Spanish.
29:49So tell me about where you're from.
29:51Galicia, up north. It's a small region in north Spain.
29:56And it's very rainy and very green.
29:59Very similar to Vegas, yeah.
30:04How do you dream up these acts?
30:07It depends. Sometimes it starts with the music.
30:10You hear a song and you say,
30:11Oh, God, this is a magical song.
30:13It would be cool to do something with it.
30:15And then other times it's just the effect.
30:18I like visual magic, you know,
30:20where the spectator has to sit down and just enjoy.
30:23If you have to think too much or whatever,
30:25it's not my kind of magic.
30:27But, yeah, I like visual aesthetic magic, yeah.
30:31Okay, Joshua, I loved this trick.
30:34This was so beautiful.
30:36Let's find out if it fooled the boys.
30:38Good luck.
30:39Well, we loved it too, Brooke.
30:41We really loved it.
30:42It's a beautiful, beautiful routine.
30:44It's a combination of things
30:46that really grow into something very different, you know?
30:49The smoke and the bubble stuff all put together.
30:52You know, Maja's dream often has a kind of sadness to it.
30:56And this is kind of whimsical
30:58and very, very fun and very happy.
31:00Now, do you do this routine on the street?
31:04No.
31:05But you are a street performer, is that right?
31:08I perform some magic on the street,
31:10but never bubbles.
31:11Yeah, well, yeah, there's that wind problem.
31:14Yeah.
31:15But Teller did a Maja's dream.
31:18I know.
31:19On the street for years and silently,
31:21and he performed that there.
31:23We just love the combination of the whole thing.
31:27And the Maja's dream often has that problem
31:30of the magician pretends to see an invisible coin in the air
31:35and then reaches for it,
31:36and that's an impossible acting thing.
31:39To, oh, I see something there, and now it's real.
31:42And by putting the bubble in there,
31:44you've solved that whole problem
31:47and really made it into something.
31:49This is the exact wrong metaphor,
31:52but something concrete.
31:54And that makes the whole thing have more of a plot and better.
31:58And just the whole thing is just beautiful,
32:01and we just loved it.
32:02But we have to add,
32:03by Teller did the Maja's dream on the street for years,
32:06he knows a little bit about it.
32:08Of course, yes.
32:09What a wonderful routine, Joshua.
32:10Thank you so much.
32:15Joshua, they know a lot about this kind of magic.
32:18Do they know how yours was done?
32:20Of course they know.
32:21Of course they know.
32:22They know a lot of things.
32:24Thank you so much.
32:25It was so beautiful.
32:26We loved it.
32:28Thank you so much.
32:29Joshua Kennett.
32:34I'll give you two guesses as to who's performing next.
32:37Guess one should probably be Penn,
32:39and guess two should be Teller.
32:41See the stars of our show perform right after this.
32:59Welcome back.
33:00Teller is here with a whole lot of balloons and pens on stage
33:03with three people from our studio audience
33:05who share a birthday today.
33:07I have no idea what these boys are up to,
33:09but it will be magical.
33:11Take it away, Penn.
33:15Okay, this is improvisational.
33:17We're going to see how many coincidences
33:19we can find in this audience here tonight.
33:22First of all, we've got three people having a birthday today.
33:25We've pulled them out of the audience ahead of time.
33:27Let's see who can find coincidences here.
33:29How about with you?
33:30Who else has red hair?
33:32Give me another person with red hair in the audience.
33:34Nick, come here. Come up. Come down here.
33:36Teller's going to give you a whole cluster of balloons.
33:38Take your favorite color.
33:40Pick your favorite color out of there.
33:42Favorite color.
33:43Take the rest of the cluster.
33:44Hand it to someone there.
33:46Yeah, just hand it to someone.
33:47Keep handing them around the audience.
33:49Get those balloons spread all over.
33:50Come up here. Come up here.
33:51And we're going to stand you on the ginger spot.
33:53Stand right there on that spot right there
33:55with your favorite color.
33:56You, you got boss specs.
33:58You got black specs.
33:59Who else wearing black specs?
34:01Who else got black glasses in the audience?
34:03You got black glasses.
34:04Come up here.
34:05You know the drill.
34:06You got a bunch of balloons.
34:07Grab your favorite color
34:09and then hand the rest of the balloons to someone there.
34:11You spread them around.
34:12Spread them around.
34:13And come on up here.
34:14And stand on this spot here.
34:16The black specs spot.
34:18Stand right there next to the ginger spot.
34:20Right there. Right there.
34:21Right there. Right there. Right there.
34:22Where are you from?
34:23Oregon.
34:24Oregon?
34:25You're from Oregon.
34:26Who else from Oregon?
34:27Who else representing Oregon?
34:28Come up here too.
34:29Who else got tattoos?
34:30You got tattoos.
34:31You're not someone else.
34:32Right up here.
34:33Come on.
34:34Grab any color you want there.
34:35Favorite balloon.
34:36Then hand the rest of the cluster right over there.
34:37Boy, you, you check every box here, don't you?
34:40You're from, you're from Oregon.
34:41You got black specs.
34:43And stand right on the third spot right over there.
34:46Beautiful.
34:47So they go just like this.
34:48We've got ginger, ginger.
34:49We've got black specs, black specs.
34:51And we've got Oregon, Oregon.
34:53Beautiful.
34:54We don't care much about you, okay?
34:56It's their birthday.
34:57We care about them.
34:58And we have birthday hats.
34:59And the other thing you need on your birthday is what?
35:02You need entertainment.
35:04And we have the best birthday party magician.
35:07We have Tellerino.
35:09Tellerino the amazing right there.
35:12I got a birthday hat for you.
35:14Want a birthday hat?
35:15There goes really nice with your red hair.
35:17Put it forward like that.
35:18Take your birthday hat.
35:19Put it on.
35:20And pick a card from the amazing Tellerino.
35:22Pick up the amazing Tellerino.
35:24This will go well with your black specs.
35:26Put that on there.
35:27And then pick a card from the amazing Tellerino.
35:30Beautiful.
35:31And this will go well in Oregon.
35:33Put that on right there.
35:34And then pick a card from the amazing Tellerino.
35:37Now, those of you trying to stay ahead of us have probably noticed we got 49 balloons.
35:43We had distributed all over the audience.
35:45And we have three balloons up here.
35:47And as you know very well, three and 49 is 52.
35:51And 52 is a very magic number in magic.
35:55That's the number of cards in a deck.
35:57And that's right.
35:58We have 52 balloons.
36:00And that's 52 cards.
36:01Our crew took a whole deck of cards, shuffled them up, folded them up, sent them in balloons and blew them up.
36:06If you shake your balloons just a little bit, you'll notice each one has a card in it.
36:12You've also got safety pins attached.
36:14Pull your safety pins out.
36:16Get ready to pop your balloons.
36:17But don't do it.
36:19Get your safety pins ready.
36:20But don't pop your balloons.
36:21Open it right now.
36:22What are you doing?
36:23What are you doing?
36:24What are you doing?
36:25Have you lost your mind?
36:26Who did that?
36:27Okay.
36:28Now we got 51 balloons.
36:30Great.
36:31Great.
36:32Okay.
36:33But don't pop your balloons.
36:34Get your safety pins all ready.
36:35Don't pop your balloons.
36:36Now what we did was we had your birthdays, right?
36:38We had you all pick cards.
36:39What card did you pick?
36:41You picked the three of spades.
36:43What card did you pick?
36:44Right out there.
36:45Five of hearts.
36:46Keep holding them.
36:47What card did you pick?
36:48The queen of spades.
36:49Right there.
36:50You've got your cards right there.
36:53Now Teller has got cupcakes for anybody that matches these.
36:57I'm going to count to three.
36:58When I count to three, on the fourth beat, right on the beat, you're all going to pop
37:02your balloons at the exact same time.
37:05It's going to sound fabulous.
37:07It'll sound like a soul single.
37:09Just a bang of a snare hit.
37:11Except for you, who screwed it up for everybody.
37:13But who cares?
37:14When you do this, the cards are going to fly all over the place.
37:18But your neighbors will help find your cards.
37:20Open them up as quickly as you can.
37:22If you have the three of spades, the five of hearts, or the queen of spades, don't wait
37:26for anything.
37:27What are you doing?
37:29Who did that?
37:30Who did that?
37:33Now there's 50 balloons.
37:35But you'll pop at the exact same time.
37:37If you have one of those cards, the three of spades, the five of hearts, queen of spades,
37:41don't wait for anybody to call on you.
37:42Don't raise your hand.
37:43Don't do anything.
37:44Just run right up.
37:45You'll get a cupcake.
37:46Ready?
37:47Right on four.
37:48One, two, three.
37:51Oh, come on.
37:52Who are you, Willie Nelson?
37:54You're like three beats late.
37:56Who's got those cards?
37:57Who's got them?
37:58Who's got them?
37:59No one has them.
38:00Well, if you three have them, and they are lined up exactly, the chance of that a factorial,
38:0652 times 51 times 50, seems very unlikely.
38:10Bring your ginger hair over here.
38:12Bring your ginger hair over here.
38:14Stand right next to me.
38:15Right here.
38:16What card do you got?
38:17The three of spades.
38:19That's the three of clubs.
38:21Very close.
38:23Very close.
38:24Three of clubs.
38:25I'm so sorry.
38:26Club.
38:27Oh, I'm sorry.
38:28It wasn't my fault.
38:29Oh, I'm mean.
38:30Okay.
38:31Got the three of spades.
38:32Now, why did you pick that balloon?
38:34Purple's my favorite color.
38:35Yeah, that's what I asked you to do.
38:36Pick your favorite color.
38:37Chance of this are one in 52.
38:40Pop it.
38:42And you pick it up, because I'd switch that bastard in a second.
38:45Pick it up there.
38:47You got the three of spades.
38:48What do you got there?
38:49I have, let's see.
38:51Hold on one second.
38:52Hold it up to the camera.
38:53Three of spades, not the three of clubs.
38:56Three of spades.
38:57Get your cupcakes.
38:58Go back to your seat.
39:00Thank you so much.
39:01Go back to your seat.
39:02Happy birthday to you.
39:03That was one in 52.
39:04The next one is 52 times 51.
39:06That's one in 2,652.
39:09Bring your beautiful glasses over here.
39:11They're the five of hearts.
39:12Bring your beautiful glasses over here, would you please?
39:14And why'd you pick that balloon?
39:16Yeah, you followed the directions.
39:19Five of hearts.
39:20Pop it, pop it, pop it.
39:21Pick it up, pick it up.
39:22You caught it.
39:23You caught it.
39:24That's fabulous.
39:25What do you got there?
39:26What do you got there?
39:27Five of hearts.
39:28Hold it up.
39:29Get your cupcake.
39:30Get your cupcake.
39:31Back to your seat.
39:32Back to your seat.
39:33Thank you so much.
39:34Go back to your seat.
39:35Brother here, Oregon, representing Oregon.
39:37Three of spades right over here.
39:38Come on over here.
39:39The chances of this happening by chance are one in 132,600.
39:4552 times 51 times 50.
39:47Do you think you have the queen of spades in there?
39:51Yes, I do.
39:52Yeah, that's why gambling works.
39:54Pop it, pop it, pop it.
39:55Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up.
39:58What do you got?
39:59Queen of spades.
40:00What do you got?
40:01Queen of spades.
40:02Hold it up.
40:03Let them see it.
40:04Get a cupcake.
40:06There's your cupcake.
40:07You can go back to your seat.
40:08Thank you so much.
40:09Happy birthday to you now.
40:11You get it.
40:12The chances of that happening at random are one in 132,600.
40:18But what are the odds of that working tonight in this theater?
40:23100%.
40:24It's a damn trick.
40:26It's a trick.
40:33If all 52 of them don't work, we'll see you next week.
40:37Oh, my God.
40:38That was amazing.
40:39It's no coincidence that tonight's show was amazing,
40:42and we can expect the same on our next episode of Fool Us.
40:46Good night, everyone.
40:48Good night.
40:49Good night.
