How Mona Tajarbi became Ras Al Khaimah’s first Emirati woman vlogger and influencer in UAE

Six years ago, Mona Sulaiman was busy inspecting warehouses in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) for health and safety violations. Her life changed when she started her vlog Tajarbi (Experiments) and became Ras Al Khaimah’s first Emirati woman vlogger in 2016.  Fast forward to 2022. Mona Sulaiman is now known as Mona Tajarbi — a social media influencer and entrepreneur, apart from being a mother of two who still continues to work at the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department of a government entity. She wears many hats such as the Ambassador of Hope at the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research, Ambassador of Awareness at Smart Cells and Ambassador of Emirates Club — Ras Al Khaimah, to name a few. 00:00My name is Mona Sulaiman. My platform name is Tajarobi.

00:03I am a social media influencer and entrepreneur.

00:07I love to work with people. I love to work in makeup.

00:13My journey started with 100 followers and still growing up to half a million followers.

00:19How I started my journey? It was not easy.

00:22I have gone through many obstacles in my life, starting from bachelor.

00:27I was a bachelor when I started my platform and I was trying to get

00:32as many followers, especially a Ras Al Khaimah platform.

00:35As you know, because Ras Al Khaimah, we didn't have any female social media influencers.

00:41So I dig deeply to be one of those influencers.

00:47So I started with 100 followers and I started to give reviews about many things in Ras Al Khaimah

00:53which a female doesn't have an idea about.

00:56When I grew up with my followers and had more people trusting on my choices,

01:02trusting on what I'm doing in my platform, we had COVID at that time in 2020.

01:08And I have to sit at home and tell the people to stay home,

01:12stay sanitized and wear mask when you are going out.

01:16At that point, I realized that I have to have my own business where I can sell the things online.

01:22So I thought a lot about many business types like Abaya,

01:28like many styles that I can come again through the platform

01:34and tell the people about the things that I would do.

01:36But I wanted something really special.

01:39I wanted something really distinguishing me from others.

01:43So I started with doing my own lashes.

01:46And I have four types of lashes in my company, which is called Blink by Moneta Jarobi.

01:51I can say that COVID, it was a really hard time for us as social media influencers to go with.

02:00But it was the best time for the entrepreneur to come out and show what they have.

02:05So from this, from the COVID 2020, I knew myself more.

02:09And I knew at that time I can be an entrepreneur.

02:12I can have my own business.

02:14I can sell the things online and I can search for more products more and more.

02:19So I started with four types of lashes only.

02:22And guess what?

02:23It was sold out from the first selling.

02:26And from this, I got the power to have more and more things in my business.

02:33So now I have lashes.

02:35I have half lash.

02:36I have face mask, lip mask, eye mask, blusher, eyeliner.

02:40And I'm working to have new products in my business.

02:45Today, we are in 2022 and I have got many awards.

02:50Recently, I got an award of Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 by Global Habarat Global.

02:57And I'm so happy that internationally, they chose me to be an entrepreneur of the year 2022.

03:03And yes, I'm still seeking to have more and more.
