Cardiff City and Bristol City are set to face each other in the Championship this weekend, with both teams eager to secure valuable points.
Bristol City have struggled on the road, failing to win any of their last eight away league matches. Given Cardiff’s recent home form, where they’ve won their last two and remain unbeaten in four, this encounter is poised to be a closely contested affair.

00:00Cardiff City head back to the Cardiff City Stadium to face Bristol City. Obviously, Cardiff
00:08have been fairly well-distracted with their FA Cup run, a run that goes into the fifth
00:14round of the tournament for the first time in 11 years. So, a real achievement for Omariza's
00:18side. Now, obviously, overriding that fact, it's not been the best of seasons for Cardiff
00:24City as a whole. They need to sort of put the FA Cup aside and look at their last league
00:30game, obviously away from home at Leeds United. 7-0 drubbing, not a positive to take there
00:36really for Omariza's side. So, this game against Bristol City, they have to bounce back. Bristol
00:41City, obviously, really fighting to try and get back in those playoff places, which they've
00:46really struggled on. So, it's a huge chance, in my opinion, for Cardiff City to really
00:51open the floodgates and ensure they are getting back to that league form and finding a bit
00:56of form again in the Championship, which is obviously so important. This running now,
01:03they are very, very close still to the bottom three. They need to make sure they are away
01:07from that. They've obviously got a game at hand because of the FA Cup victory and that
01:11run that continues to go on. But strong performances individually, especially the likes of Ruben
01:18Colwell and Yusuf Saleh have been absolutely fantastic in recent weeks. So, I think it's
01:24a game that is very, very open and could be good for the neutral, but Cardiff City need
01:29to make sure their home form prevails and that the home crowd get behind them to get
01:35another three points in the Championship.
01:38As for Bristol City, well, they, of course, are off the back of that really disappointing
01:421-0 loss at Cardiff's Welsh rival Swansea City at Ashton Gate, a game in which they
01:48could have broken into the play-off place as the top six, something they've been threatening
01:51to do for a number of weeks now with some really good performances and results. But,
01:55of course, when it came to it, they didn't do that. But luckily for them, they are facing
01:59a Cardiff side who, as Charles has mentioned, have not been great this season, just coming
02:04off the back of a 7-0 loss in the league, at least away at league leaders Leeds United.
02:10But they have had, of course, a bit of a confidence boost in the FA Cup, as mentioned,
02:14winning on penalties away at Stoke City. They had, of course, led that game 2-0 in the early
02:19stages. So, it's certainly not an easy game for Bristol City, but probably one that they
02:23will back themselves in despite the loss against Swansea, simply because of where Cardiff are
02:28in the league and just how they played against Leeds United. It's a game where they need
02:35to just put the past behind them, the disappointment of Swansea, and showcase just why they've
02:40got themselves into the position that they are in the league so far this season. Use
02:43that quality. The likes of Naki Wells, the likes of Ines Mometi need to get in amongst
02:47it and get on the score sheet if possible. Of course, Cardiff, as we saw against Leeds,
02:53are prone to conceding quite a number of goals. So, if Bristol City can get one, you'd back
02:57them to get perhaps a handful.
