00:00Are a Saving Wendy documentary dropped last night on Wendy Williams in this guardianship
00:05Where she says it's like being confined to prison
00:09With her circumstances, which are bleak. She can't go out. She can't
00:15Receive phone calls. She has no internet
00:19Why is this happening when she seems?
00:23Okay. Yeah, and we get into that and you get you really get to see in here Wendy and decide for yourself
00:30But the big question, of course is how did she end up in there and her battle to get out and it turns out
00:37It's very close to home for her. So to set the scene
00:43Wells Fargo became alarmed that was her bank when there were these big withdrawals
00:48That seemed odd to them and they tried to get in touch with Wendy and they couldn't and it turned out
00:54She was in Miami with her son and her son had her phone and they started zeroing in on the Sun saying what's going on?
01:02Here and Wells Fargo started this by getting a guardianship which by the way
01:07Wendy appreciated to protect her money to protect her money. That was what happened at the outset
01:12So you got into that with Wendy as far as her relationship with her son Kevin my son
01:19You know, he overstepped his boundaries in terms of me you understand he overstepped his boundaries and
01:27He was inappropriately
01:30Using my money without telling me crap about it, you know
01:35Like is he stealing from me? That's when my money got frozen Wells Fargo. Thank God
01:40No more money stealing from my son and the other people. He has a way of
01:47Getting with you know, a couple of other people, you know, I'm saying my son is not the only one, you know
01:53I'm saying involved with my money
01:55So we should say Kevin denies having done anything like that the judge in the case
02:02Kind of sided with Wendy on this saying that even though Kevin
02:07apologized in court
02:09For some of the things he did she does not trust him because she thinks he would either
02:15Intentionally or unwittingly do it again with respect to her money, right? So, um, you know, we have a new podcast. Yes and
02:23two angry men
02:24You and it's Mark
02:27Well, I don't know that about Mark Garrigues
02:29You know him better than I do so fine, but I definitely applies for you
02:33Thank you, but you guys spoke to Wendy on two angry men and got into
02:39The big development for Wendy in the last week has been the fact that she is going to get out this weekend this coming weekend
02:47To go celebrate her father's 94th birthday in South, Florida, which does raise the issue
02:53Kevin is gonna be there. It's a big family gathering
02:56Kevin is gonna be there and this is what you and Mark talked to Wendy about there are constraints that I am going to
03:03Tell you know when I'm in Miami, but I don't want to talk about that. You know what I'm saying?
03:07I just want things to go so
03:09Good. I do have a question about that
03:11You know, I know you love your son and I know there have been issues is Kevin gonna be there as far as you know
03:18Yeah, he'll be there. I
03:20Will see him. I will see him at a particular place particular location me and my son we have
03:27Yes, I will
03:31Have you been talking to him because obviously he's in them involved in all of this
03:37Yes, listen, listen, I don't want to talk about my son. You know what I'm saying? Like like my son is my son
03:42He's your son. You love him to death and how does loving your son and forgiving your son translate into being in your own personal?
03:52kind of
03:53Jails or prison. It doesn't make any sense to me. I mean you you love your son you happen, right?
04:01things happen
04:03Yeah, look this is a great conversation that you and Mark had with Wendy because it really zeros in on what is the least restrictive
04:10Way, we can protect Wendy
04:11Let's say I know her son denies these allegations
04:13But protecting her finances is a big concern and was on the judge's mind this guardianship just seems to be way too
04:19Restrictive to address that particular harm in her life
04:22And that's what I'm wondering if she needs all of this
04:25Does she need to be on a floor where she doesn't have access to fresh air and doesn't allow incoming calls?
04:30Just to protect her finances or is there a less restrictive way of doing this? How about this?
04:34No guardianship that she's the old Wendy Williams and whether she's quirky or whatever
04:41to take somebody's freedom away and place them under a guardianship should be extreme and
04:47Wendy needed a guardianship a couple of years ago. She did and it was appropriate
04:52The question now is I listened to her for hours and hours and hours on the phone over the last month and a half
04:58Charlemagne has a Rosanna Scott. Oh the anchor in New York has her niece
05:02Alex has her caregiver Gina has we all have the same opinion back to the old Wendy. Why is she in a guardianship?
05:10It is a huge question. It comes up as you watched the documentary
05:15This is Barb from Connecticut
05:17and I just want to say thank you Harvey for covering Wendy's story because she clearly does not need to be under this guardianship anymore and
05:23Just to see her with her hand on the glass is so heartbreaking and thank you for being a lifeline to sharing her story
05:30I don't know what is going on with this guardianship, but something is terribly terribly wrong here
05:36By the way
05:36We should say that we shot it this way out of necessity because we couldn't get into the facility
05:42So we had a camera on the sidewalk and we shot up on the fifth floor and she came to the phone
05:49with you know by the window and
05:52That's how we did it frankly, I think it shows the circumstances
05:57Yeah, I think it will really draw more attention to to Wendy's plight right now
06:02So it's saving Wendy is streaming now on to be for free
06:08It is really a remarkable
06:11Telling of her story from start to finish as far as this guardianship
06:15Is is concerned and you just wonder how much longer this is gonna go on and just one other thing and
06:21The the the two angry men podcast where she jumps on and talks extensively. I think is really interesting, especially about her family. Yeah
