00:00Wendy Williams was recently spotted in Miami celebrating her dad's birthday amid her ongoing
00:05health struggles.
00:07The former talk show host, who is currently living in a New York City wellness facility,
00:11was photographed arriving at Miami International Airport on February 15 and photos obtained
00:16by People magazine.
00:18Wendy was also seen eating at a restaurant in Miami in a video captured by Ronald Beasley
00:23and posted on Instagram on February 17.
00:26The 60-year-old was in Florida to celebrate her dad Thomas Williams Sr.'s 94th birthday.
00:32The visit comes days after Wendy opened up about her life in an assisted living facility
00:36in a new TubiTV documentary titled TMZ Presents Saving Wendy Williams.
00:42In the doc, the former talk show host spoke with TMZ host Harvey Levin over the phone
00:46while cameras recorded her from outside the facility and she got emotional talking about
00:50her elderly father.
00:52Wendy, your dad is turning 94 in February and he's up there in age and I know you want
01:02to go to Miami to see him and celebrate his birthday because you don't know how many more
01:06there are going to be.
01:07Right, exactly.
01:10That must be important for you.
01:15It's extremely important.
01:19It's extremely important to see my dad for his birthday, you know, and that is a family
01:26thing.
01:27It's not just a me thing, you know.
01:28I would wish that, along with celebrating my dad's 94th birthday, that we as a family,
01:37we come together in peace and harmony.
01:40That's what I wish for my dad.
01:49I don't even know whether I'd be able to go to see my dad for his birthday.
01:54Are you so close that you could see me crying?
01:57Because I don't want to, like, because then that's something that they'll say to me, oh,
02:04Wendy, that's why you need to stay, you know, in this dying facility.
02:10After that conversation, a judge did grant her permission to visit her father for two
02:15days.
02:16But while talking to Harvey Levin on the phone, she described the conditions at the facility,
02:19claiming they had kept her isolated and under many restrictions.
02:23What is it like?
02:25Isolated, you know.
02:30Well, you see where I am, right?
02:33Where I am is this place where the people are older, you know what I'm saying?
02:41They are in their 90s and their 80s.
02:44They call this the memory unit.
02:47I am part of the memory unit.
02:49A memory unit, in other words, what?
02:51Somebody who doesn't remember crap?
02:54Are you serious?
02:56This is my life, you know what I'm saying?
02:59The memory unit is suffocating.
03:02I mean, like, I literally, I eat lunch and dinner in my bedroom.
03:07I don't eat out there with the people that live here just because it's so goddamn depressing.
03:13Wendy, who has been placed in the facility by her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey,
03:18also says her communication with friends and loved ones has been restricted.
03:23I have not, listen, I've asked the guardian person for an iPad since years, it seems like.
03:30But an iPad.
03:32Can I please have my telephone back?
03:35Can I please be able to call, you know, my family?
03:39You know, what is the problem with me calling and talking to friends of mine?
03:43They're not allowed to come in here, friends of mine.
03:46You know what I'm saying?
03:48Williams' guardian previously claimed that she had been diagnosed with frontal temporal dementia
03:52and primary progressive aphasia,
03:54and court documents stated that she is, quote, legally incapacitated.
03:58But in the documentary, Williams denies those claims.
04:01Her niece, as well as Levin, who both have spoken with Williams at length,
04:05say Williams does not appear to be incapacitated.
04:08And as Access Hollywood previously reported,
04:10Williams' guardian, Sabrina Morrissey,
04:12requested a new medical evaluation for the TV personality earlier this month.
