00:23A man in his 70s from St Anne's suffered serious injuries after he was struck while using a
00:28pedestrian crossing. He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment but sadly later
00:35died. A 43 year old man from Blackpool was arrested on suspicion of causing death by

01:39New Preston Primary School, where it will be built and what it will be like. Details have
01:46been revealed of the design of a new primary school set to be built on the outskirts of Preston.
01:51The facility of Whittingham Drive in Whittingham was mooted about six years ago but now Lancashire
01:58County Council has unveiled formal plans for the project. The school will cater for 210 pupils
02:07aged between 4 and 11 and will include a special educational needs unit for up to 16 children.
02:12As the Lancashire Post revealed in June 2023, County Council cabinet members gave the go-ahead
02:17for the scheme, ultimately to accommodate 420 youngsters with two new receptionist classes
02:23being admitted each year. However the blueprint that has now been drawn up by County Hall is based
02:28on the original plan of one annual reception form of 30 reception children, suggesting further
02:33development on the site would be needed for any future expansion to increase capacity.
