00:00Hi, good day and I'm Sonu Sood and welcome to a special edition of Gulf News Update for
00:07Monday, February the 13th.
00:09And here are the top stories at this hour.
00:12Economic openness is a ground reality and Arabs should not lean towards economic isolation
00:17as the global market is open, said His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice
00:23President and Prime Minister of UAE and the ruler of Dubai.
00:27Speaking at the World Government Summit on Sunday, Sheikh Mohammed said we should not
00:31lose hope and we can achieve Arab progress and development despite challenges and problems
00:37surrounding us.
00:38He said the Gulf Cooperation Council's achievements over the past four years were equal to achievements
00:43made by the bloc over the past 40 years.
00:46Success is not measured by the size of the population nor by the modernity of countries
00:52or oil resources, but by will and management, he said.
00:56And I'll be joining Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, musicians Vishal Shekhar and rapper
01:01Badshah in Dubai to celebrate Holi with fans at an event called Bheegi Chunariya at the
01:07Autism Rocks Arena on March 17th.
01:11The event will be a chance for me to reunite with Hrithik Roshan, my co-star from Jodha
01:16Akbar.
01:17Kung Fu Yoga has done so remarkably well that a sequel may be planned where Dubai could
01:22be featured again.
01:24Even though Adele flubbed during the live performances at the Grammys, she walked away
01:30the bell of the ball.
01:32The singer took home five awards on Sunday night, including Album, Record and the Song
01:37of the Year.
01:39She beat Beyonce in the top three categories with her comeback album 25 and repeated her
01:45accomplishments from 2012.
01:47The script predicted that La La Land would clean up at the BAFTAs.
01:52Instead, the Feel Good musical came away from the 2017 ceremony with five awards including
01:58the top prize of the Best Film.
02:01It was a good night, but far from the juggernaut which had been widely anticipated.
02:07The prizes were spread widely with more than 15 winners including Manchester by the Sea,
02:12Fences, Lion, Hawkshurt Ridge and Jackie.
02:16And finally, the weather.
02:17Today's high across the UAE will be 26 degrees Celsius, dropping to 21 degrees at night.
02:25That's all for now.
02:26Thanks for watching.
