00:00Good morning it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's February the 10th, Monday February the 10th, hope you've had a nice weekend, it's a bit dreary today though.
00:08Just bringing you some headlines, first of all I put out a story on Friday, the future of Wabtec, a massive employer in Doncaster.
00:17The staff heard that the site is due to be closed, it looks like some point next year, that's put in jeopardy around 300 jobs.
00:27So I put that out Friday, there are some obviously reactions to that from local political leaders.
00:34The company itself has provided me with a comment about why they've had to take that drastic measure.
00:39So that's up on the website now and obviously if anything else comes out of that we'll keep you posted.
00:45Then one political story, a new poll has suggested that Reform UK could win 114 seats at the next general election.
00:56And that includes Doncaster, Nigel Farage's party could win seats across Britain, which it looks like would decimate Labour's majority.
01:06It's all down to a new poll that's been brought out, so you can find out how that came to that figure and all the details, that's on the homepage right now for you.
01:18And then finally one from the courts, Doncaster burglar who raided a stranger's home so he could steal a BMW car.
01:26He's now been jailed after officers traced his footsteps and found him hiding in a garden, not very bright.
01:32Josh Mansfield was arrested 35 minutes after breaking into the house in Besseker during the raid which was in January last year actually.
01:42The 25 year old stole keys for the BMW which was parked upon the drive before fleeing the scene.
01:49They gave chase, they found him eventually, he fled from the vehicle but they tracked his footsteps which was in some snow and managed to capture him.
02:00So yeah, he's been put behind bars, you can read all about that story as well today.
02:04So for that, for the other two stories and for anything else that's happening in the city, just visit www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
02:13And obviously we'll keep you updated on Facebook and X and I hope you have a lovely Monday.
