00:00Jalen Hurts in the playoffs, 1,592 passing yards,
00:04eight touchdowns, two interceptions,
00:05and nine russing touchdowns.
00:08Maybe the secret sauce, George,
00:11was the Eagles learning from that long losing streak
00:16that they had last year,
00:17the injuries that piled up on Jalen Hurts last year,
00:20and just keeping him healthy, you know, NBA style,
00:24so to speak, with this DNP coach's decision,
00:27because it did seem like they didn't really have
00:29Hurts do a ton at the end of the regular season,
00:32and they saved him for the playoffs.
00:33Maybe I'm crazy.
00:34Schorf looks that way based on the way
00:36he's looked the last few weeks.
00:38He's looked really good.
00:40It's hard to take anything away from Hurts, though.
00:43He didn't have a coach at the end of the season,
00:44so he didn't play.
00:45Maybe that's a good thing, get him fully rested there.
00:48He's a dual threat.
00:49He can throw the football.
00:50He's got massive weapons.
00:51A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith, Dallas got it.
00:53It certainly doesn't hurt that it's second and three,
00:56it seems like, every time,
00:57because Barkley's gotten you five, six yards on first down,
01:00so they put you in good situations.
01:02Defenses kept guessing it.
01:03Those safeties have to back off here.
01:05Play action is wide open, right,
01:07because you're sucking everybody in.
01:09Oh, God, here we go.
01:10He's throwing all over the top here,
01:12and you think about it,
01:13A.J. Brown hasn't even had that great a year, right,
01:15because they haven't needed him always.
01:16Sometimes it is Devonta Smith.
01:17Sometimes it is Goddard.
01:18There's nobody else there.
01:19It certainly hasn't been Johan Donson all season long here,
01:22so it's hard to criticize Hurts, but you're right.
01:26Sirianni had his issues this year, right?
01:28He's fighting with Zach Hurts,
01:29one of the commanders here.
01:31He got in a fight with the fans.
01:32I mean, the guy is hard to root for in Sirianni.
01:37Hurts, you know, listen, I'm a Cowboys fan.
01:39My money is on the Eagles,
01:41but, man, it's hard to root for the Eagles,
01:43and Kevin Walsh and Fly Eagles fly,
01:44and I can't take it anymore.
01:46With that being said, they are a great team.
01:48Also, that offensive line, top-notch.
01:51It's a little easier when you got four seconds
01:52to throw the football.
01:53Yeah, it definitely is.
01:54Matt Barkley, by the way,
01:56442 rushing yards in the playoffs.
01:59I think Barkley, Matt, his signature moment
02:01definitely came against Washington,
02:03immediately running for that 60, 70-yard touchdown.
02:05I don't remember exactly how long it was.
02:07Six and, 6.7 yards per carry, 35 receiving yards,
02:11and five touchdowns for Saquon Barkley,
02:15and, you know, Matt, isn't it sort of funny
02:17when we go to Philadelphia here,
02:18we're sort of focusing in on them,
02:20how different things are than they were a year ago.
02:23I mean, they had one of the bigger collapses
02:27in an NFL season with that kind of talent.
02:29I mean, Howie Roseman, the Eagles,
02:30they could have just stood pat and said,
02:32ah, you know, it was an anomaly.
02:33Teams don't usually lose that many at the end of the year.
02:36They didn't do that.
02:37They brought Barkley in, and it definitely seems like he,
02:40and I also want to make sure I keep mentioning Vic Fangio,
02:42because I think he made a big difference, too.
02:44It's the world in which we live, right?
02:47It's recency bias.
02:48Everyone's looking for the next hot stock,
02:50the next hot coin, the next hot currency reevaluation,
02:54and you mentioned all of the negative chatter,
02:56yet you don't think there's going to be negative chatter
02:58the day after tomorrow, independent of who wins the game.
03:01It's just the way of the world.
03:02People need news, but it's not nourishment.
03:05As investors, as wagers,
03:07we want to look at the numbers, right?
03:096.7 yards per carry for Barkley.
03:12That's something that we want to look at.
03:13We want to really drill down on.
03:15Joe mentioned it in the last segment,
03:17how it doesn't have to be a lot of runs.
03:19It just has to be one big run.
03:21So when we couple our information
03:23and we fade all the nonsensical noise,
03:26remember, guys, this is the most wagered-upon sports event,
03:30or one of the top three, I think it is now,
03:32considering how widespread wagering is.
03:35So we need to fade that noise and fade that public
03:37and just do what we do here on SportsCrit,
03:39which is focus on some stats and some good, hard wagering.
