00:00Tom, biggest takeaway from this game?
00:04The Eagles won and it didn't require Saquon
00:08to have a massive game.
00:09And a lot of people talked about,
00:11throughout the Eagles season,
00:14A.J. Brown not having the biggest games at times
00:16and it was a Saquon team
00:17and players had to play different roles
00:19and you couldn't be the star.
00:20And a lot of that was true tonight,
00:22where Saquon was actually the one
00:24that wasn't being the star.
00:25He was held to less than 100 yards combined,
00:28which is not something that we had seen from Saquon,
00:30especially with the recent run that he's been on.
00:32And it is a team effort to win.
00:35And that's what it requires.
00:36Whether it's early in the season,
00:37Saquon has big games.
00:38Late in the season, other players have to step up at times.
00:40A.J. Brown being held to 10 yards in a playoff game.
00:43They still find ways to win.
00:44And honestly, credit to the coaching staff.
00:48Obviously, they're gonna have more leave.
00:49He's gonna be a head coach.
00:50But from the top to the bottom,
00:52they constructed a roster that everyone had a part.
00:55And it didn't have to be one player every single game.
00:59You have to just pull the right levers.
01:00And it brings a team effort to win.
01:02Well, Scott, I didn't believe it
01:04in the two weeks of lead up and all the conversation,
01:07obviously, surrounding this game.
01:08But I know you did.
01:10Lots of people, a lot of sharps, quite frankly.
01:13A lot of the professional bettors that I spoke with
01:16were screaming unders on Saquon Barkley.
01:19Whether it's rushing, receiving, combined yardage,
01:23rushing yardage, longest rush yardage.
01:26It was just, will he score a touchdown?
01:29Who knows?
01:29I mean, that's something of a wild card.
01:30I never, in a million years,
01:32would have guessed the Eagles would put up 40 points
01:34and Saquon would not find the end zone.
01:36That, to me, might be the most shocking thing
01:38to come out of this game.
01:39But for all the people that said,
01:42yeah, I don't think this is gonna be a Saquon game.
01:45And you were in that camp.
01:47Congrats, because you nailed it.
01:48The Eagles found a way to win, obviously.
01:50And the defense was a gigantic part of it.
01:52But offensively, it was the other guys.
01:55Yeah, I'll pat myself on the back
01:57because no one else will, right?
01:59I mean, I-
01:59No, just take credit to you.
02:01They're gonna win by 30.
02:02We'll put up 30 and win by multiple scores.
02:05To perfection.
02:06I mean, it really, you know,
02:07even the 17 point difference, it was 18 points.
02:10I had it at 34, 17, right?
02:12But I thought they would stuff the box.
02:14They did.
02:15I thought they would control Barkley.
02:15They did.
02:17And I thought that it would be up to Jalen Hurts
02:19to throw the football.
02:20And he did.
02:20Although I will say, you know,
02:21if you just looked at the box score,
02:23it's one of those goofy games where
02:25I imagine Jalen Hurts got the MVP.
02:28But in reality, it was the Eagles defense
02:30that really should be the MVP of this game.
02:32Because if I told you before the game, guys,
02:34that Philadelphia would have 57 yards
02:37rushing at a Saquon Barkley on 25 carries.
02:40So it's not like they only, you know,
02:41did it a couple of times.
02:42And their leading receiver was Devontae Smith?
02:44No.
02:45A.J. Brown?
02:46No.
02:47How about Saquon Barkley?
02:48You know, six receptions and his 40 yards.
02:51It wasn't even for like 120 yards.
02:53So he took one of these and then went the distance, right?
02:55He didn't have any long runs.
02:56His longest run was only 10 yards.
02:58You know, Jalen Hurts, you know,
02:59threw the ball for 221 yards.
03:01Nothing crazy.
03:02So it's like, how do you look at that and say
03:04they scored 40 points,
03:05but the defense, the interception return,
03:07set him up for another short touchdown.
03:09It was the defense that really kind of stole the show.
