00:00Many activities were held in Baguio City today as part of the celebration of the Panagbenga Festival.

00:08This was reported by Christine Sabaway of PTV Cordillera.

00:15At 8 o'clock this morning, many residents of Baguio City were waiting for the start of the celebration of the Baguio Family

00:24at Melvin Jones Football Ground, Baguio City.

00:26This is part of the 29th celebration of Panagbenga that has a theme of Blossoms Beyond Boundaries.

00:33Hundreds of individuals participated in various activities

00:37such as the Open Painting Competition and Exhibition, and the 10th Kite Flying Challenge Competition.

00:44The activities were said to be traditional activities held annually

00:48led by the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc.

00:52which is a gift for the residents of the city.

00:56We are now here at Melvin Jones Football Grounds

00:58to host one of our events and highlight the celebration of Panagbenga to the Baguio Family.

01:05First, we are doing this for the Baguio Family and residents.

01:10The Open Painting Exhibition and Competition is ongoing.

01:14Basically, for residents of Baguio, we have the amateur, professional, and family category.

01:20At the same time, we have the annual Kite Flying Competition for kids, teenagers, and adults.

01:30Aside from the goal of uniting residents of Baguio through activities,

01:36it also aims to showcase the talents and talents of residents of Baguio.

01:42For Panagbenga, the main reason we became Creative Cities

01:46is because we know that tourists are coming to the city every year.

01:51We need to create an opportunity for the residents.

01:54And this is really the day for it.

01:56So we all welcome the families to join us in the festivities.

02:05this is their second time participating in the activities, especially the painting competition.

02:25brought her team to participate in the Kite Flying Challenge Competition.

02:30She is not only participating in the competition, but she also wants to show

02:43Actually, we joined all the categories, the kids, teens, and adult division.

02:49So we would like to show to the culture and tradition of the Filipino people

02:57that seemingly the tradition of kite flying is dying down in our country.

03:03Most kids now are busy with their gadgets.

03:07So this is our way of trying to motivate and continue the culture of this kite flying competition.

03:16Aside from the various competitions, there is also a Burger Eating Contest and Cultural and Talent Showcase.

03:23Interactive booths and exhibits led by students will also be available.
