00:00More than 200 houses in Barangay Taniong, Malabon have no supply of electricity now.

00:12A fire broke out in the electricity cables in Barangay Taniong in Malabon City at 3 p.m. yesterday.

00:30Residents shouted because of the fear of the next explosion of the cables.

00:42It happened right after the wind blew from the house that was being repaired.

01:01I was sleeping and unfortunately, I heard an explosion. I thought it was over.

01:07I didn't think about myself first. I thought about my family.

01:13Actually, I couldn't even lift my right arm because of the shockwave.

01:22Aside from the spaghetti wire, another problem here are the cables like this that are almost unprotected by the residents.

01:31There are posts installed in the area to lift the cables.

01:35It's been a year but the cables are not being repaired.

01:40It's really scary. Aside from that, we can't say anything.

01:43The kids are playing around.

01:45They might get hurt. They might cut themselves.

01:49They might get stuck.

01:52That's what we're asking for, to be lifted.

01:54There are no damaged houses and no injured people in the incident.

01:57But the problem is that more than 200 houses lost their power supply.

02:02They are afraid that it might take more than a month for the power supply to be restored.

02:08That's what I'm thinking because I can't sleep.

02:10Especially now, I can't do it.

02:15I can't understand the pain.

02:21I might die because of the lack of electricity.

02:27The residents are hoping that their decades-old problem will be lifted.
