00:00The Department of Agriculture, or DA, promised that the agency is ready to provide assistance to those affected by the eruption of Vulcan Canlaon.
00:08In an interview with Assistant Secretary and DA Spokesperson, Arnel Demesa, in the program Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon,
00:14he said that the agriculture sector is the primary affected by the calamity.
00:19The DA is now asking the provincial and municipal governments to provide assistance to agricultural workers.
00:26They also provided medicines for those affected by the eruption of Vulcan Canlaon, such as pork, chicken, and many others.
00:33The DA is also ready to provide assistance to farmers so that the price of sugar in the country can be reduced,
00:41including having a sufficient supply of sugar.
00:46As of today, the areas that can be affected are La Castellana, La Carlota, Tabago City, and Canlaon City in Negros Oriente.
00:56As of now, we are continuing our validation and monitoring of the areas.
01:02The areas mentioned are not, according to the initial assessment, going to be large.
01:09But we will provide reports as the data comes in.
