00:00Philippine National Police clarified that the nominee of a party-list group was not arrested but arrested because of a murder case.

00:08PNP also admitted that there was an assassination attempt against him.

00:15PNP arrested a man with an outstanding warrant of arrest.

00:38The man in the video was identified as a party-list nominee, Legion de la Cruz, who was charged with two counts of murder.

00:45At 11 o'clock in the morning, the car of de la Cruz was shot.

00:50De la Cruz was not shot, but he was followed by gunmen.

00:55Police identified the gunmen and he was taken to the Marquina Police Station for investigation.

01:02But PNP claimed that their operation against de la Cruz was legitimate.

01:07There was also no assassination attempt against the man who was arrested.

01:10On the contrary, he was the one who was shot and he was the one who was injured.

01:14And our police officer who was injured is now confined.

01:18He has a fractured pelvic because he was stabbed by the accused.

01:24According to PNP spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Gin Fajardo,

01:27they just wanted to get a warrant of arrest for de la Cruz,

01:31when de la Cruz suddenly ran and pulled the gun.

01:35In his escape using the car, four cars were hit, one motorcycle.

01:41A police officer was also injured by a pelvic bone, which continues to heal.
