00:00We are starting a pattern that is just
00:02a stormy pattern into mid February.
00:03So we're going to have a couple weeks of this.
00:07Get ready, I hope you took
00:08advantage of today.
00:09Kind of the warmer weather because
00:10more precipitation is on the way.
00:12So let's break down what to expect.
00:14First of all,
00:14over the last couple of hours,
00:16some of us haven't really gotten
00:17a break from the precipitation,
00:19and you can see the mild air,
00:20meaning we're not just seeing snow,
00:22but we saw some rain and even some
00:24kind of wintry mix freezing rain
00:25sleet in there as well.
00:27We have seen some accumulating snow
00:28though Rockport, Maine,
00:29seeing 5 inches in the last 24 hours
00:31in parts of New Hampshire as well.
00:33All the way down to Heartbreak,
00:35New York, seeing 3.1 inches of snow.
00:37More is on the way,
00:38so here's the first kind of burst of
00:40snow that will get Wednesday into
00:42parts of Pennsylvania.
00:43Not a huge impact here,
00:44but a short period of time picking up
00:46one to maybe three inches in some areas.
00:49Here's the bigger snow that we're
00:50going to see from this midweek storm
00:53that starts in the center of the
00:54country and then it's going to move
00:56into the Northeast, but not just bringing snow.
00:59We're breaking this up starting with the snow.
01:01We're looking at overall snow totals
01:03one to three inches for most of us.
01:05We have some pockets where we have,
01:07you know the darker blue shades here,
01:09and that's three to six inches with your
01:11active other local storm max of 9 inches.
01:13Of snow, but it's not just snow.
01:15We're going to see some overlap.
01:17With the ice and you'll notice there's
01:20some areas that are get snow and freezing
01:22rain. Some areas really trending
01:24more towards just freezing rain.
01:26Either way, that means slick spots on the roads,
01:28really even creating some dangerous situations,
01:31especially in the areas in this darker pink color.
01:34That's what we're talking about.
01:35Significant ice coverage,
01:37so not just so you know a little bit
01:39of trace of freezing rain creating slick spots.
01:42No, we get more accumulating.
01:43That's when we talk about power outages,
01:45tree limbs, power lines being weighed
01:47down at leading to power outages.
01:48Something to make sure you are prepared for
01:50as we head towards Wednesday Thursday there.
01:54Now let's take a quick look at future
01:55radar and kind of how this plays out.
01:57We start with that quick burst of snow
01:58and then we see the rain move in.
02:01We see that pink start to be in the mix
02:04as well that freezing rain and then some snow
02:06as well and you'll see where they overlap.
02:08We see more snow as this moves north.
02:10Some rain coming in behind it as well.
