Icy travel and snowfall are expected the rest of the week in the Southern states. Snow is forecast to turn into rain and eventually ice, creating hazardous travel conditions into this weekend.

00:39Snow begins around 5 6 7 o'clock in the morning, and I'm gonna say this
00:44Interstate 40 from Fort Smith to Nashville. I think there's sections of that road that will be completely shut down
00:51Do not go on that roadway tomorrow, I think it's snow covered it's gonna be very slippery
00:55There could be some sleet with that as well
00:57It's gonna thump snow by the way in Dallas beginning around midnight tomorrow night in the 7 a.m
01:03Friday a chilly rain in Jackson toward Montgomery and look at this
01:07There will be accumulating snow that goes over to some ice then rain in northern parts of Alabama and Mississippi even Atlanta
01:14I think you're gonna get a few flakes of snow and some ice that eventually
01:18Transitions to some rain how much snow a solid three to six inches from Nashville all the way toward Dallas even toward the Abilene area
01:25Here now north of Dallas there may be a little more than that where we get six plus inches
01:30But the main story is we're gonna be looking at icy travel here

01:45We're gonna get over six inches, but it is somewhat likely we can get below three so best case scenario
