00:00Colorum vehicles without red papers, but passing through, were involved in the DOTR operation in Iksa, Bulacan.

00:09The authorities took the campaign against Colorum very seriously for the safety of the passengers.

00:16Denise Osorio is in the center of the news.

00:21Four private vehicles and a taxi were caught in Bulacan because of the Colorum this morning.

00:27The operation was led by the Department of Transportation Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation or DOTR SAICT.

00:34According to DOTR SAICT Head Raison de la Torre, even though there is a legal travel of public vehicles from Bulacan to Manila,

00:41Colorum vehicles still pass through the area, even though it is against the law and is dangerous.

00:48As carpools, the arrested people who are sidelining to increase their income are complaining.

00:54Their vehicles do not include comprehensive insurance for private use and are overcharged.

01:01It is very dangerous to ride in a Colorum vehicle because first of all, it is for the safety of our passengers.

01:08Second, the insurance of the passengers is not guaranteed.

01:14And third, these types of vehicles are not regulated.

01:20Colorum passengers travel from Guintot, Bulacan to 5th Avenue LRT or North Avenue MRT for P100.

01:29Compared to P75 or P80 for a legal PUV, like a bus to Caloocan or a UV to North Avenue.

01:37DOTR SAICT also added that almost 20 per quarter are caught in Colorum in the hotspots in Bulacan,

01:43like Guintot, Santa Maria and Marilao.

01:46It is the defense of the taxi driver who was caught.

01:49I know that it is prohibited, but it is because of the travel.

01:52It has been a week and I have not been able to get a boundary.

01:55The other arrested people did not give any statement.

01:58The passengers do not want to talk anymore.

02:02And because they have already paid, the others did not go down and just joined the impounding of the vehicle in the Land Transportation Office.

02:09The fine is P120,000 to P200,000 for Colorum depending on the type of vehicle.
