00:00Former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis Chavez-Sinzon withdrew from running as a Senator because of his health condition.

00:08This is what Louisa Erizpe reported.

00:11Past 10 in the morning, former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis Chavez-Sinzon arrived at the office of the Commission on Elections in Intramuros, Manila.

00:20This is a personal and official withdrawal from his candidacy as a Senator.

00:25Sinzon was the first candidate in the 2025 National Elections that he withdrew from running.

00:31The reason was pneumonia.

00:33He did not sleep for 5 days because of his health condition and his candidacy.

00:38And before he went to COMELEC, he was still in the hospital.

00:42I was infected with pneumonia.

00:45Pneumonia is worse than hormone.

00:50If I were to run again, I would be a Senator.

00:55I can do everything.

00:58I can help people even more if I am good at it.

01:02To be honest, he is wasting his time running for his candidacy.

01:06His expenses are not included in his campaign.

01:10But Sinzon said that even though he withdrew from the election, he is still continuing his help and projects.

01:16He is also considering other candidates that he will support.

01:19I will continue to do my best.

01:22I will help the drivers, the transport group, giving bank accounts for free.

01:31The people I will help are William Riz, Bongo, and others.

01:40COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia himself accepted Sinzon's withdrawal.

01:45But he said that there is no chance that he will be able to substitute.

01:48If a candidate withdraws, no matter what the reason is, the substitution is prohibited.

01:55According to our law, the candidate can only be replaced if the candidate dies or the candidate is disqualified.

02:02Unlike what COMELEC said earlier, when Sinzon withdrew, they will not remove his name from the ballot.

02:09Now, they will remove Sinzon's name from the ballot.

02:12Because they will just start reprinting it.

02:15Because of Sinzon's withdrawal, only 11 candidates in the Senate will be able to move the number in the ballot

02:22if the name added to them by the Supreme Court is not added.

02:31But if Governor Chavez-Sinzon withdraws, it seems that after S, it will not be affected.

02:37But if he does not withdraw, M will be affected until the last candidate.

02:42Next week, COMELEC is expected to start reprinting the ballots.
