00:00Meanwhile, the four sacred panels of the Archdiocese of Cebu

00:04were returned after it was lost in the 1980s.

00:08The Department of Tourism has taken care of it,

00:11especially since a large part of it is in the identity of the people of Bolhoon.

00:16This is Jesse Atienza from PTV Cebu in the center of the news.

00:23One by one, experts left the boxes

00:27the four pulpit panels that came from the National Museum of the Philippines.

00:37And for the first time since the 1980s,

00:41the Cebuans restored the sacred panels

00:44that were once in the Archdiocesan Shrine of Nuestra Senora

00:49del Patrocinio de Maria Santissima in the town of Bolhoon.

00:54You belong to us, the Archdiocese of Cebu

01:00and the Bolhoonanos, the Cebuanos,

01:06as we belong to you.

01:10Ownership should never be questioned.

01:15Under the conservation process of the experts,

01:19the four pulpit panels to be preserved

01:23will also undergo carbon dating

01:26to ensure that these panels were lost in the 1980s.

01:31It's a very delicate procedure.

01:33We had 12 weeks to do some work for the conservation of the panels.

01:38We cleaned the panels, we consolidated,

01:41meaning that all the falling materials,

01:46we glued them in a certain manner and then we recolored.

01:50The Department of Tourism was also pleased

01:52with the restoration of the pulpit panels

01:54that were part of the faith tourism and recognition

01:57of the local devotees in the town of Bolhoon.

02:01We view this with great significance,

02:04especially that we recognize Bolhoon Church

02:08and all our heritage sites as significant to our identity as Filipinos

02:15and of course, tools by which we can continue to sustain

02:19livelihood and economic development in our localities by way of tourism.

02:25So we are very grateful for the return of the panels.

02:29Currently, the panels in Bolhoon Church's care

02:33will be returned to the pulpit,

02:35where the Archbishop Jose Palma is expected to give his testimony

02:40in one of the pontifical masses this March 21.
