00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're looking at the hardest dungeons and challenges in
00:17Assassin's Creed games.
00:26Before we begin, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:31the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:35The Gates of Atlantis, Assassin's Creed Odyssey
00:44Deep into Odyssey, you'll arrive at Atlantis and meet Pythagoras, who tells you that he's
00:49your real father and has been kept alive for hundreds of years by the staff of Hermes,
00:55an Isu relic.
00:56Then, he tasks you with going out into Greece and finding four Atlantis artifacts, defeating
01:02four bosses to get your hands on them.
01:04These fights are the hardest in the base game, particularly Medusa, who remains one of the
01:10hardest bosses in the entire franchise to defeat.
01:21Defeating the Sphinx is easy, since you don't actually fight her and instead solve her painfully
01:26simple riddles.
01:27The other three, though, are extremely challenging, and all of this is required to get the true
01:33ending of the game.
01:41Co-op Missions, Assassin's Creed Unity
01:54Though the tournament is the most difficult and notorious of Unity's co-op missions,
01:59the truth is that many of them are unreasonably hard now because they're designed for having
02:04two, three, or four players.
02:06Though Unity's disastrous launch was over a decade ago, and the game is phenomenal if
02:11you play it on Xbox Series X, PS5, or a decent PC, running at a buttery smooth 60 frames
02:17per second on consoles, many still haven't given it a second chance.
02:28So it's still near impossible to find enough people to play these co-op missions with.
02:33It is, of course, possible to complete all of them on your own, especially if you're
02:38skilled enough, but it's always going to be worse than doing it with your friends.
02:50Naval Missions, Assassin's Creed 3
03:01Let's be honest, it was always baffling that Assassin's Creed 3 had naval combat.
03:06It makes sense given how important navies were to assuring world dominance in the 18th
03:10century, but Connor becoming the captain of the Aquila and engaging in ship battles is
03:15odd nonetheless.
03:17Of course, this was all preparation for Black Flag the following year, but the mechanics
03:21were clumpier and more limited than they'd go on to be in subsequent naval-focused AC
03:28games.
03:34As well as that, some of the naval missions added in DLC aren't ship-based at all.
03:39They lead you to Central America for complex platforming dungeons that are challenging
03:44but extremely fun, ultimately rewarding you with Captain Kidd's treasure.
03:58Bounty Hunts, Assassin's Creed Syndicate
04:07Of all Syndicate's side content, from glitchy carriage rides to the repetitive but rewarding
04:12child liberation missions, the bounty hunts might be the trickiest.
04:16For full synchronization, you have to kidnap a Templar leader alive and take them to a
04:22nearby carriage, then deliver them to the police.
04:32You can kill them and make it slightly easier, but even then, you're left carrying the
04:37body through a restricted area crawling with Templars and Blighters.
04:41Planning out the best route and stealthily taking down other enemies so that your target
04:45doesn't run away can take a while, especially late in the game when they're at their hardest.
04:59Tombs of the Fallen, Assassin's Creed Valhalla
05:11The Tombs of the Fallen were part of Valhalla's massive amount of post-launch free content,
05:16along with plenty of pricey DLCs.
05:19Eivor can find these secret tombs across England, learning in the process about the key figures
05:24in the Roman conquest of Britain.
05:26In lore, Emperor Nero ordered that these tombs be hidden and defended, which turned every
05:31single one into a huge puzzle dungeon.
05:34We didn't have any classic dungeons like this in Valhalla before, just environmental
05:38puzzles to find collectibles, so it was fun to have them back.
05:42However, they take a lot of time and lateral thinking to get through, with multiple smaller
05:48puzzles and stages blocking you from progressing.
05:51They're perhaps trickier and more time-consuming than Valhalla's many bosses.
06:07The Masiiv Keys, Assassin's Creed Revelations
06:20You're required to find all five of the enigmatic Masiiv Keys to progress the story in Revelations,
06:27which is half about freeing Constantinople and half about Ezio unlocking the secrets
06:32of Altair's library.
06:34Each key brings with it memories of Altair's later life and is needed to open the door
06:38beneath Masiiv Castle, but they've been scattered throughout Constantinople.
06:52They lead to big platforming sequences with impressive set pieces, easily the best in
06:56the series up to that point, and that's a high bar, especially considering Revelations'
07:01story also ends with a parachute chase and a battle to the death while falling from a
07:06cliff.
07:07You'll need all of your platforming skills just to complete them.
07:20The last three assassinations, Assassin's Creed
07:32We could have put finding all the flags or defeating all the Templars here, but the first
07:36game's difficulty is at its peak in the final third.
07:40With each trio of assassination targets Altair takes down, the more the soldiers become aware
07:45of him.
07:46In the end, his notoriety is at its peak, and it's impossible to move around the cities
07:51freely.
07:59You have to make use of hiding spots, blending opportunities, and helpful groups of scholars
08:03to get around without aggroing legions of guards.
08:06On top of that, after performing an assassination, Altair's escape from each city is even more
08:12challenging.
08:13And it's worse if you do end up running into one of these Templars while trying to flee.
08:23The Assassin Tombs, Assassin's Creed 2
08:37The original Assassin's Creed Challenge dungeons were the Assassin Tombs in the second game.
08:43There were six, each containing a unique key that Ezio needed to unlock the armor of Altair
08:48kept in the Sanctuary of Monte Reggioni.
08:50With the platforming significantly improved between the first two games, these tombs tested
08:54your mastery of the controls with long platforming sequences inside many of Italy's most famous
09:00landmarks.
09:13Florence Cathedral and St. Mark's Basilica are clear highlights, showing off the internal
09:18architecture.
09:19You'll have plenty of time to appreciate the finer details as Ezio falls to his death
09:24over and over again.
09:37Plantation Liberations, Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry
09:53Throughout Haiti, Adewale can free slaves in various ways.
09:56He can help them escape, prevent them from being transported, or liberate entire plantations.
10:02These plantation missions, however, can be challenging because if Adewale isn't stealthy
10:07enough, the overseers will start executing slaves to try and discourage you.
10:11There are also many additional steps and a few key different objectives each plantation
10:16will give you, since you may also need to find keys or unlock pens.
10:20Worse, even if you liberate all the plantations, they'll eventually reopen with new slaves.
10:26Completing these missions many times is necessary to unlock all the rewards Haiti's rebel fighters
10:32offer, as well as ensuring their help in the story.
10:43The Lairs of Romulus, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
10:52Like the Assassin Tombs, the Lairs of Romulus all need to be completed for Ezio to unlock
10:56the best armor in the game, the armor of Brutus.
10:59We're not sure when Brutus used it, since he certainly wasn't wearing it when he helped
11:03Aya to assassinate Caesar in Origins, but it was his at some point.
11:08The Lairs are also more varied, encompassing platforming puzzles along with chases and
11:13even an enemy gauntlet deep underground.
11:16All of Ezio's skills as an assassin and fighter are put to the test, and your reward is the
11:22armor set and the knowledge of who the sinister followers of Romulus really are.
11:34Let us know in the comments which Assassin's Creed challenges took you the longest to complete.
