A band of rain continues to move across the country this evening, with hill snow across parts of Scotland. Strong winds continue to push rain northeastwards, which will be heavy in parts. A yellow wind and rain warning is in place. This rain will clear for central and southern parts of England during the early hours of the morning. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 26/01/2025. 00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Pitania. Low pressure
00:04continues to dominate the weather across the UK in the next few days. Low pressure sitting
00:07out towards the west at the current time. Tightly packed isobars indicate quite blustery
00:11weather. Notice the low starts to make inroads in from the west. The winds start to ease
00:15as those isobars open out. But on the whole, it stays pretty unsettled through the early
00:19part of the coming week with showers or longer spells of rain.
00:22So looking at things in more detail for the overnight period, we've got a band of rain
00:25with some hill snow affecting parts of Scotland. Meanwhile, further outbreaks of rain moving
00:29north-eastwards into England and Wales into the early hours, giving way later to some
00:33clearer skies with blustery showers down to across Wales and the south-west of England.
00:38Given the pretty unsettled conditions though, it stays largely frost free overnight tonight.
00:42Temperatures mostly in the low to mid-single figures, although we could see a touch of
00:45frost very locally across some rural parts of Scotland. On the whole though, temperatures
00:49in the range 4 to 6 Celsius.
00:52As for Monday, well with low pressure still close by, it's set to be another very unsettled
00:56day. Notice showers or longer spells of rain moving in from the south and south-west,
01:00moving north and north-eastwards across pretty much all of the UK as we go through the day.
01:03Again, there could be a bit of winterness at times across the hills of Scotland, and
01:06wherever you are, it'll be pretty blustery. We like to see gales at times, particularly
01:10down towards the south and south-west of the UK, perhaps with Wales seeing some of the
01:13heaviest bursts of rain. Temperatures on the face of it, not too bad, in the range 6 to
01:1810 Celsius. 10 down towards the south-west is 50 in Fahrenheit, but add on the effect
01:22of the wind and those outbreaks of rain, it's going to feel colder out and about.
01:26As for Tuesday, well low pressure will be slap bang across the UK, so the winds will
01:30start to ease down, but notice there's still a lot of showers to contend with. Again, some
01:33of those showers could be heavy and persisting in places to give some more general spells
01:38of rain too. Temperatures again, around about where they should be for the time of year,
01:42peaking at 6 to 10 Celsius, but still feeling cooler with a wind and rain around.
01:47That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the forecast by following
