In Sydney two off duty police officers have been assaulted in the inner city suburb of Newtown. The attack took place around 11 pm on Wednesday night both men sustained injuries and were taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. One of the men sustained serious injuries and remains in a stable condition in hospital while the other suffered head injuries but has since been discharged.
