00:00In Palestine, Gaza experiences its first night in peace after 15 months of a genocidal operation.
00:21Donald Trump announces a few hours after his swearing-in as President of the United States
00:24that on Monday begins the largest historic operation against the invasion, referring
00:29to migration.
00:34Venezuelan government announces planning for the first Bolivarian Shield 2025 exercise
00:39aimed at guaranteeing peace and democracy.
00:43Hello, welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the Resus Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:51And we begin with the news.
01:09Gaza experiences its first night in peace after 15 months of a genocidal operation that
01:14daily bombed the Palestinian enclave.
01:16Humanitarian organizations estimated an average of 846 daily attacks against the Strip.
01:23Seven months ago, an investigation by the Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights
01:27calculated that about 70 tons of bombs had been dropped by the Israeli occupation, a
01:32figure that even then exceeded the bombings of the Second World War.
01:36The United Nations reported that six out of ten buildings have been destroyed.
01:40This Sunday night, not a single bomb fell in Gaza for the first time after more than
01:4547,000 deaths.
01:49Meanwhile, at least 200 trucks with humanitarian aid entered Gaza from Egypt on Monday, bringing
01:58the total to 830.
02:00Tension reigns in the Strip.
02:02Early on Monday, a powerful explosion in the northern West Bank killed an Israeli reservist
02:08and wounded two others.
02:10Occupational forces said that the explosion occurred when the patrol vehicle was passing
02:13by.
02:15The government of the Strip has also reported incidents in Hanjounis, where the Israeli
02:19troops are said to have fired several shots.
02:28And the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs reports that 92 percent of homes in
02:32the Gaza Strip have been destroyed by U.S. bombs sent to Israel.
02:36WHO representative in Palestine, Rick Pippenkorn, said that after the hopeful ceasefire, a huge
02:43challenge lies ahead.
02:44The health system in Gaza is virtually destroyed, as are the 436,000 homes that are reduced
02:50to rubble or are uninhabitable.
02:53Meanwhile, Palestinians who have returned to their neighborhoods are trying to recover
02:57the bodies of their loved ones, who still remain under the rubble.
03:05And the Israeli Occupational Forces struck hundreds of buildings in southern Lebanon,
03:10violating the ceasefire agreement in force since November 27, 2024.
03:16The review of satellite data, open-source images, and interviews with United Nations
03:20special envoys unfolded the Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
03:25The continuous aggressions toward the Lebanese people, even after the implementation of the
03:30agreement, have generated uncertainty about the reliability of the deal, which would end
03:35its initial 60-day term on January 26, 2025.
03:39Subsequently, the resistance Lebanese movement has counter-attacked Israeli military sites.
03:44In addition, Hezbollah insisted on the repeated Israeli violations of the agreement.
03:53In our news on Monday, attacks attributed to the Rapid Support Forces in Darfur, northern
03:57Sudan, killed at least 22 people and wounded 20 others.
04:01Security Ministry Director General Ibrahim Yatter said these latest bombings have affected
04:07the towns of Umm Qadadah and other nearby villages.
04:11Moreover, the Gezira Conference, a Sudanese civil society group, said six civilians were
04:16killed and three others kidnapped, including a doctor, in attacks by the Rapid Support
04:21Forces in the state.

04:59Welcome back.
05:00In the United States, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump promised historic speed and force
05:04against migrants, whom he called illegal border intruders.
05:08From the Capital One Arena, a few hours before being sworn in as the 47th President of the
05:13nation, he assured that mass deportations would begin this week.
05:17He also referred to issues related to energy, tariffs, and the economy.
05:21In this context, in recent weeks, the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean have been
05:24preparing for the re-elected president's threats, and have respectfully, but without
05:29being intimidated, addressed messages to the businessmen.
05:34You're going to see something tomorrow, you're going to see executive orders that
05:41are going to make you extremely happy, lots of them, lots of them.
05:49We have to set our country on the proper course.
05:52By the time the sun sets tomorrow evening, the invasion of our borders will have come
05:59to a halt, and all the illegal border trespassers will in some form or another be on their way
06:07back home.
06:10In the United States, President-elect Donald Trump, since winning last November's election,
06:14has met threats against several countries, mostly allies.
06:17Our correspondent, Isaac Garcia, with more details.
06:21We have to set our country on the proper course.
06:24Donald Trump returns to the White House on January 20th with more threats than proposals.
06:29Greenland is among the territories under threat.
06:32People really don't even know if Denmark has any legal right to it.
06:37But if they do, they should give it up because we need it for national security.
06:41That's for the free world.
06:44The response from Greenland, home to 58,000 people, was not long in coming.
06:49Of course, I think these are serious things that you hear there.
06:54But what is important to emphasize is that Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders.
06:58The development we want in our country and the cooperation we want with the world around
07:03us should be based on the desire we have and the values we have because that is what trusting
07:07cooperation is based on.
07:12The Panama Canal has also become a point of discord.
07:16I can say this.
07:17We need them for economic security.
07:20The Panama Canal was built for our military.
07:24I'm not going to commit to that now.
07:26It might be that you'll have to do something.
07:31Every square meter of the Panama Canal and its adjacent areas belongs to Panama and will
07:35continue to belong to Panama.
07:36The sovereignty and independence of our country are non-negotiable.
07:43Guzman was met with a more forceful response and rejection of his threats when he spoke
07:48of changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
07:56The name of the Gulf of Mexico is recognized by the United Nations, a United Nations organization.
08:01But next, why don't we call it Mexican America?
08:05It sounds nice, doesn't it, doesn't it?
08:10Since 1607, the constitution of Apatzingan was of Mexican America.
08:21So let's call it Mexican America.
08:24And that was not the only reaction from Mexico.
08:33In response to the threat of the Republican tycoon and his chief diplomat to declare Mexican
08:38criminal groups terrorists, its president said that there would be cooperation, but
08:42never subordination.
08:43She holds the same view on the immigration issue.
08:54We believe that bridges must be built, not walls, and that the most humane and effective
08:59solution to migration is to address the causes, to invest, to support so that people do not
09:04have to migrate out of necessity.
09:12Trump's much-talked-about possibility of raising tariffs on some countries also generated controversy.
09:20To one tariff, another will come in response, and so on until we put joint ventures at risk.
09:29Of all the threats, perhaps the one that has generated the most mobilization in the United
09:33States is that of deporting thousands of immigrants in irregular conditions.

10:17Welcome back.
10:18The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, headed the planning meeting for the popular
10:23military and police exercises, Bolivarian Shield 2025, to be held from the 22nd to the 23rd of
10:30January. In addition to the head of state, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López,
10:35the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, and those responsible for
10:40national security and defense also took part. The exercises that are traditionally carried out in
10:45the Bolivarian nation have the fundamental objective of guaranteeing the peace, defense,
10:50and democratic stability of the nation. In addition, in Venezuela, the alliance of the
10:54people with the armed forces and the police gives a sovereign participatory and protagonist character
11:00to these exercises. And the Venezuelan government established a humanitarian corridor with four
11:10points of attention to receive families arriving in Venezuela displaced from North Santander in
11:15Colombia. The Simón Bolívar Humanitarian Task Force is made up of the Bolivarian National Armed
11:20Forces, doctors, firefighters, and civil protection. Local authorities indicate that
11:24the people arrive in Venezuela in search of peace due to the confrontations between the
11:29National Liberation Army and a dissidence of the FARC in several municipalities of Colombia.
11:35The people who enter are checked for health, receive food, and sleep under the protection
11:39of Venezuelan support teams.
11:45The representatives of the victims of the Colombian conflict abroad, Haiti, Belenio,
11:49and Chebarría, thank the Venezuelan government for receiving and attending the victims of the
11:53escalation of violence that the country is facing due to the disputes between Colombian armed groups.
12:02Here is this beautiful Venezuela that we have a lot to thank because if this beautiful country
12:06has bet on something, it has been on the peace of our beloved Colombia.
12:10And today, in this gesture of love that we have seen today, I can say that love is repaid with
12:14love because we are grateful to this land that has received millions of victims of the Colombian
12:22conflict and that we continue betting on that long for peace. And we want concrete actions
12:26with the Colombian government. We want concrete actions with all the insurgencies that today
12:30are in dispute and that once again cause us pain, a pruning, and a pain of homeland.
12:35But we want to overcome them by embracing each other in this struggle and in this long for dream.
12:45Asquez has said that violence will not be allowed to take over Catatumbo,
12:50given the difficult situation in the northeast of the country. Here we affirm that the government
12:55is working to ensure the safety and protection of the communities and recall that support lines
12:59have been set up to assist the people at risk. He stressed that President Gustavo Petro has given
13:04priority to the protection of life and humanitarian aid. In his first appearance since his medical
13:09leave, he also sent a message of thanks and appreciation to the security forces
13:13deployed in the north of Santander through army radio.
13:21And Cuban Minister of Transportation Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila announced having initiated a
13:26pilot project to contribute to medical attention in Havana. The minister detailed that the plan
13:31is performed in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and the government of Havana.
13:36The transportation office has provided 15 new ambulances with duly trained drivers,
13:41and health care system will guarantee medical personnel and equipment to assist emergencies.
13:46This project is part of one of the agreements signed at the PASA International Transport
13:50and Logistics Fair held in April 2024.
14:01Venezuela and Cuba unite their art again, this time in Havana where the Cuban group Buenafé and
14:14the Venezuelan singer and composer Omar Acedo closed their Amigos tour. Fabiola López with the details.
14:24The stage is the Karl Marx, the theater of great events in Cuba. The event, the concert of the
14:29Cuban musical group Buenafé and the Venezuelan singer-songwriter Omar Acedo, and the pretext,
14:34the closing of the Amigos tour.
14:40We have achieved an empathy that is very deep, framed in respect and admiration to continue
14:45making music to connect with the people who follow us, accompany us, who have always been
14:51with us and who day by day give us reason to connect with the music.
14:59We spent a month in Venezuela. It was very enriching that contact with the Venezuelan public.
15:18In Venezuela, people love very much this band from Cuba that has been in charge of accompanying us,
15:23especially in the process that we have had to live as a nation, as a country and as a people.
15:29They have shared with us the good times, the bad times, and I am sure that in the
15:34worst times they will continue with us. That is why this union is so organic.
15:48After their success in theaters of Venezuela, the Cuban group Buenafé
15:52and the Venezuelan musician and singer Omar Acedo joined their talents again to delight,
15:57this time in Havana, the lovers of intelligent and committed music.
16:06Omar Acedo has been a revelation for us, a revolution also from the point of view of
16:11reinventing ourselves as artists, leaving our comfort zone, risking ourselves to other audiences,
16:17to another way of making art. It has been a shutter and breaking the creative bubble
16:22in which we usually develop in saying, OK, I am going to dare to get into this mess and we will
16:28all be enriched. It has been a tremendous enrichment. For the musicians who give the
16:43gift of their art, this is a renewing, daring, intimidating and enriching experience,
16:49and for the public that enjoys it, a simply unforgettable night.
16:59It is a spectacular concert, a wonderful concert. I am a fan of Buenafé and being here tonight
17:06and seeing the amount of public and the welcome and meeting this Venezuelan singer
17:10that I have found spectacular, has been one of the concerts that I have enjoyed the most,
17:18simply spectacular.
17:25The night has been a spectacle in every sense, and it really shows once again that music has no age,
17:29no borders, a beautiful show, and that Cuba and Venezuela are there together,
17:34for everything, and that music is unique and embraces all the countries of the world.
17:38Multiple hits by Buenafé and Omar Acedo, along with emblematic songs of Cuba and Venezuela by
17:45important singer-songwriters such as Silvio Rodríguez and Ali Primera,
17:49were enjoyed to the fullest at the venue.
18:08And in Denmark, there is a community built in the 17th century, the Christiansfeld,
18:15a settlement of the Moravian Church, which has been recognized as a World Heritage Site.
18:19Let's see what it is all about.
18:25The 18th century settlement of Christiansfeld in southern Jutland is an exceptional example
18:30of a planned colony settlement of the Moravian Church, reflecting the social
18:35and ethical ideals of the Moravian Church. Founded in 1773, the site is a free Lutheran
18:42congregation based in Hernhut, Saxony. The town reflects the social structure of the Moravian
18:47Church, characterized by large communal houses for the congregation's widows and single persons.
18:53The architecture is homogeneous and unornamented,
18:56with one- and two-story buildings of yellow brick and red tile roofs.
19:00The proportions, materials, and craftsmanship contribute to the special atmosphere of peace
19:06and harmony of the village. It is therefore an exceptional testimony to the principles
19:10of the founding brothers, which are evident in the design, architecture, and craftsmanship
19:15of the city, as well as in the fact that numerous buildings are still used for their original
19:20functions. For all these reasons,
19:31it is an outstanding example of an idealized and planned Protestant colony, as illustrated
19:36by its urban plan. The site, like other settlements, reflects new ideas introduced
19:42in the Age of Enlightenment that anticipated ideas of equality and social community.
19:47The democratic organization of the Moravian Church is expressed in its humanistic urban planning,
19:52illustrated by its open plan, established on agricultural land and representing all
19:58the buildings important for the common welfare. Christiansfeld possesses all the necessary
20:06functions of the city and illustrates its unity through homogeneous groups of buildings with
20:11styles, materials. Most of the population of Christiansfeld was built between 1773 and 1800,
20:18following a strict urban plan. Today, this utopian experience is recognized as a heritage
20:24site by UNESCO.
