00:00Our 2023 Freeride World Tour champion, peak performance rider Justine Dufour-Lapointe.
00:06She's a two-time Olympic medalist, one gold, one silver in moguls, made the transition in 23 to
00:13Freeride and earned herself a world title in doing it and Justine is now on the La Bamba face way up
00:20high. Making great work out of these top sections again, controlled turns, controlling her speed.
00:27For a girl that lives in Montreal, she knows how to move on her skis. Yeah, she's gained comfort in
00:34the big terrain rapidly. You know, she had a quick introduction to Freeride, popping in and out there
00:40so catching two airs for the price of one and Justine putting together the line score here. She
00:46skis down through the central couloir. You can see how shady it is, that makes the light a little bit
00:50more difficult for the riders to manage. Another air for Justine, so she is looking strong here now
00:55in the rider's left couloir and just maxing things out as she gets into the rocks. Popping another
01:01feature, so absolutely jacking up the line score here for Justine Dufour-Lapointe. A really strong
01:08beginning half of this run as she collects a whole bunch of speed now across the flats.
01:12Yeah, we saw a lot of the riders heading to skiers right and Justine choosing to go, you know, where
01:18Victor went to that far left side and really finding a line in which you can pick up a lot of
01:24air and a lot of little nuggets along the way which helped to just build that line score higher
01:30and higher. Absolutely, it worked for Victor so far, looking good for Justine. Got a couple of
01:34wind lips down here as she's approaching this one, catching speed. Oh my god, a huge backflip for
01:41Justine and stomping it, getting her pole back into her hand. That was enormous as she makes her way.
01:48There's another wind lip here and you can't let a wind lip go untricked. Justine now setting up
01:54and launching a big shifty so she didn't quite have the speed hands in the air. Justine is stoked.
01:59So the level here, the freestyle edition from the Freeride World Tour for ski women, popping off
02:05another one, clearing the rocks. Wow, Justine Dufour-Lapointe lacing the La Bamba face, showing what's
02:13possible here. This is a girl that believes in herself and you can really see it in her riding.

02:30All right, well catching up we go back up to the top. Look at how steep this is, one hand dragging
02:34in the snow, airing out of the couloir, airing back out of the other side of the couloir.
02:41Just such nice technique, control and you really see the versatility of her riding.
02:47Has progressed so far, she's able to do these tricks off the wind lip and also manage herself
02:52in steep terrain. Huge backflip! Yeah, Justine went so high on that. You can see her just elevate,
03:01tucking, opening up. That is years of mogul training to know exactly how hard to set the
03:07rotation and then didn't have the speed for another flip there that we thought might be coming.
03:11Catching this extra credit at the end and then the hand goes up. She knows, she knows she just put
03:18down a banger on the Freeride World Tour. The peak performance rider, incredible moments here
03:23in ski women. So we've seen both ends of the spectrum now from the ski women's category. That
03:28was mastery and you got to think for Justine, you know years of skiing, icy moguls really paid
03:34off there. So the score coming up, bang into the 80s and Justine do four lap one. Canadian ski royalty
03:42into the hot seat.
