00:00University Utara Malaysia Professor Kamarul Zaman Yusof told the Kuala Lumpur High Court today

00:07that it was expected of PKR's Rafizi Ramli and Amanas Sa'ari Sungib to have no issue with

00:13Hannah Yeoh's autobiography titled Becoming Hannah, A Personal Journey.

00:19He said Rafizi and Sa'ari who wrote the forewords for the book were Yeoh's allies

00:24and had been part of the now-defunct opposition coalition, Bakatan Rakyat.

00:28So naturally they will back her up, he said. Kamarul said this when being re-examined by

00:35his lawyer Khairul Azam Aziz who wanted him to elaborate on why he disagreed with Yeoh's lawyer

00:41Sangit Kordio's earlier assertion that Rafizi and Sa'ari, both Muslims, had no issues with

00:47the book's content. Kamarul also said that based on his own experience as a special officer to

00:54a federal minister and the prime minister, politicians rarely had time to read books

00:59and would usually assign their subordinates to provide summaries. He also noted that neither

01:05Rafizi, who is now the economy minister, nor Sa'ari, a former Selangor assemblyman,

01:10had provided any specific excerpts from Yeoh's book to justify their support. Yeoh, the youth

01:16and sports minister, is suing Kamarul for defamation after he accused her of proselytizing

01:22Christianity through her politics and driving a Christian agenda in her book.
