00:00We're here thinking about the head coaching situation here, of course, and hearing all
00:19these names being floated around.
00:21And I know you have, you have a lot of respect for what D'Amico Ryan has done and we do too.
00:26Like his defense has been so much fun to watch.
00:29He was, him and Robert Sala, they went through San Francisco and Sala's name is popping up
00:36around Dallas.
00:37What, what is, what are the similarities?
00:39What are the ideas that Sala brings specifically?
00:42Yeah, well, they're both from the Seattle Cover Three, Pete Carroll family.
00:50And really Robert Sala was one of the first guys to really kind of advance that system
00:56after they lost the Super Bowl to the Chiefs.
00:59The following year, they kind of started mixing in some quarters coverage, some of
01:03those Fangio ideas as far as disguising.
01:06And that really took the defense to the next level.
01:09And D'Amico Ryan was on his staff as a linebacker coach at that time.
01:13And then when Robert Sala left, D'Amico kind of furthered that idea.
01:17He, you know, they still play with that four down, super aggressive, those aggressive principles
01:24as far as getting upfield.
01:25But then, you know, you add some different type of coverages.
01:29He does some really interesting things with disguises.
01:31And he just seems to always call, they're not a heavy blitzing team.
01:36But D'Amico has a really, he's a great knack for calling the blitzes at the right time.
01:41And he just always seems to get quarterbacks with it.
01:45So I think, you know, that Cover Three tree has kind of passed on the league, but there's
01:50still those coaches around the league, like Sala and D'Amico, like we talked about.
01:56But to me, D'Amico is the guy that's really modernized it and made it more viable to play
02:03against these modern offenses.
