The lane expansion project along the Johor stretch of the North-South Expressway (NSE) will be stopped temporarily to avoid causing traffic congestion during the upcoming Chinese New Year balik kampung rush, says the Works Ministry.

00:08of the North-South Expressway, where the lane expansion project is underway, in Sedanak,

00:15He said roadworks to expand the existing two lane to three lanes each will be temporarily
00:20halted for 12 days during the Chinese New Year celebration.
00:24He said he had also told the highway operator to ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the
00:52whole project, which kicked off in July last year.
00:55He said the works currently involve land leveling and slope cutting, drainage structures, relocation
01:01of utilities and traffic management plans.
01:05As of the end of last year, the project has exceeded the 5.02% completion mark.
