00:00I must put on record the most valuable cooperation given by Shri Anupamji.
00:26Anupamji has done a lot for this industry and Rohit Singh has just retired.
00:33But we must also record the greatest cooperation we received from Shri Rohit Singh.
00:40So, with the efforts of Anupamji, in 2019, the Consumer Protection Act,
00:47the Direct Selling rules came into effect in 2021, and a regulatory framework was created.
00:57But the question is, the framework that was created,
01:04are we able to create other support policies for direct selling according to that framework?
01:13This is the second question of today's conference.
01:17Apart from this, the burden of compliance in the Consumer Protection Direct Selling Rules of 2023,
01:27must be rationalised and simplified to the extent that the latent spirit of the rules is not distorted.
01:37I feel this is the third question that we must all find together.
01:44I also spoke to the Minister about this. I also spoke to Pallaj Joshi.
01:49Before Pallaj Joshi, Piyush Goyal was the Minister.
01:53I can definitely tell you all that the government is progressive in this matter.
02:00And if the government is progressive, then why are some things stuck?
02:06Are there any shortcomings on their part by some stakeholders?
02:12Or are we not able to convince the people sitting in the government?
02:17Even now, when something happens again and again,
02:20then by going around somewhere, direct selling is joined with MNM and Ponki.
02:27I feel that this conference today, because this conference has been called by a lot of selected people,
02:34then this conference should be discussed and discussed.
02:39At the rate at which direct selling is increasing in the country,
02:44if I talk about 2022-23,
02:49then in 2022-23, approximately 22,000 crore rupees, i.e. 3 billion dollars,
02:59is the size of this, and if it is like this, and while the global size is 170 billion dollars.
03:08So can we all together do this 22,000 crores by at least 50,000 crores in the next two years?
03:18There is potential, there is capacity, it just needs to be augmented.
03:27So if we discuss this in today's conference,
03:31then I feel that it will be in the right direction.
03:34When the Honourable Prime Minister talks about 5 trillion economy,
03:39then there is an important component of direct selling in it.
03:43As such, how to do 22,000 crores by 50,000 crores in two years?
03:49That too, again I will emphasize, that too under the legal banner.
03:57Because no compromise on legality will be made by the government,
04:02and I feel that as stakeholders, our industry should not do that either.
04:07In this, we will have to go into a no tolerance zone.
04:11And the way I understand this industry,
04:14I feel that we can legally move it forward, because there is a lot of potential.
04:21Today, suppose if someone does not get a job,
04:26and if someone wants to start a business from their home,
04:30then you do not need a house, nor a shop, nor anything.
04:33You do not even need a very big stock.
04:37If you have 5,000, 10,000 rupees,
04:40then you can start your own business.
04:43But yes, what will be the modernities of that business,
04:48what will be its parameters,
04:51that should be defined with great clarity.
