Hawre Sherwani, 33, was shot dead in a targeted attack in a residential street in Caroline Springs on Thursday night. Police believe an offender was injured during the shooting, which has been described as a brazen and concerning attack.

00:11Police did tell us that he was known to police and that he had organised crime links.
00:15Now emergency services came to this scene at around 10.30 last night after reports of

00:22They arrived to find Mr Shawani with critical injuries and gunshot wounds and sadly he couldn't
00:27be revived.
00:29Police say that they are still looking for maybe one or more suspects.
00:33They say that the suspects left in a stolen getaway car, torched it in a suburb nearby
00:40in Fraser's Rise and they're still looking for them.
00:43They say they're also concerned that there could be a potential retaliation attack.

01:05Mel it was very busy here this morning with a number of investigators from the homicide
01:09squad and forensics.
01:11On the street there was a handgun that had been left there on the road.
01:15There was also a number of bullets that were splayed around nearby as well as a car that
01:22had a gunshot through its window and side panel and what also appears to be a gunshot
01:27through a window of a second story of a home.
01:30So the detectives were extremely busy this morning but they're still appealing for information
01:35from the public.
01:36They're asking people in this area around Hayson Parkway to come forward with any dash
01:41cam or CCTV footage or if any witnesses to help them in this investigation.
