Youth crime in spotlight after fatal stabbing

Police say the parents of five teenagers arrested after grandmother was fatally stabbed in a shopping centre west of Brisbane “condemn” what happened. Vyleen White died after being stabbed in the chest in an alleged robbery at Redbank Plains in Ipswich. The African community has reported an increase in racist attacks following the incident, but police are calling for calm and say vigilante justice “has no place in our society”.
