A woman remains in hospital after she was allegedly stabbed by a teenager at an Ipswich shopping centre yesterday afternoon. Police have charged a 13-year-old-boy with attempted murder.

00:14A 63-year-old Coles employee was working at Yamanto Central when she was allegedly stabbed
00:20by a 13-year-old boy.
00:22Nobody should be going to work to make a living and be attacked whilst they're at work trying
00:27to earn an income.
00:29Staff at a nearby sushi stand heard screams.
00:32When I saw her it was very scary, I saw with my own eyes, so I was very scared and my body
00:41was shaking.
00:42Police say the alleged attacker was restrained by members of the public and security.
00:47And I want to acknowledge those persons for their brave actions yesterday afternoon in
00:51assisting police.
00:53The woman remains in a critical condition in the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
00:58We're conducting a number of inquiries in regards to how the youth came to be in possession
01:02of that knife.
01:03Business is somewhat back to normal here at Yamanto Central.
01:07While Coles has reopened, a spokesperson has told the ABC their thoughts are with the 63-year-old
01:13and they're offering support to all affected employees.
01:17Extra police are now patrolling the centre.

01:31The 13-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder.
01:36His case was mentioned briefly in the Ipswich Children's Court this morning, where it was
01:41adjourned to next month.
