The city has been under a midnight to six am curfew since Tuesday when rioting erupted following the death of a man shot by police. Police say 43-year-old Keith Scott was shot for refusing to drop a gun. His family says he was holding a book.

There have also been peaceful street protests against what demonstrators have called controversial police shootings.
