00:13Kluang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohamad Noh said the 7.15pm accident
00:19occurred when a 53-year-old lorry driver lost control, veered into the opposite lane and
00:25struck the MPV.
00:27A 39-year-old woman in the backseat died at the scene from severe head injuries, while
00:33a 7-month-old baby sustained head injuries and is in critical care at Hospital Encik
00:38Besar Haja, Kalsom, Kluang.
00:41The other MPV occupants, including the 26-year-old driver, also suffered injuries and are being
00:47treated at the same hospital.
00:49The lorry driver was taken to Pantai Hospital, Batu Pahat for treatment.
00:53The case is being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act,
00:581987.
00:59Meanwhile, Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Station Operations Commander P.B.K.2 Shoromi Salli
01:06said his team received an emergency call at 7.16pm.
01:10Six personnel and an FRT vehicle were dispatched to the scene, where they found all victims
01:15had exited the vehicles.
01:18First aid was administered on site.
