00:00Good morning to all. This is the latest weather update this Saturday, January 4, 2025.
00:09At present, we are not being monitored by low-pressure areas or typhoons inside and outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:16Although we can see here in our latest satellite animation,
00:20we have a line of clouds affecting a large part of the Luzon area.
00:26That is the shear line or the cold and hot wind.
00:30And because of the effect of the shear line and the wind that is affecting the extreme northern Luzon,
00:36we expect a dark time for a large part of the northern and central Luzon today.
00:42Meanwhile, here in the vast majority of our country,
00:45we can see that there are no visible thick clouds that could cause continuous rain all day long.
00:53So, we expect generally fair weather conditions.
00:56Here in Mindanao, we expect that there will be a high possibility of sudden or temporary rainfall due to localized thunderstorms.
01:05We are also being monitored by thunderstorm advisory that is issued by our Pag-asa Regional Services Division.
01:11And for the next few days, we expect that the effect of this shear line will gradually weaken
01:17and it is still possible for rain to fall in the eastern section of our country,
01:21but it will not be as strong as the last few days.
01:25So, generally, we expect fair weather for a large part of our country within the next 2 to 3 days.
01:33As for the weather conditions here in Luzon today,
01:36as we have seen in our latest satellite animation,
01:39the weather will be gloomy.
01:42In the northern and central Luzon, we expect the effect of wind and shear line.
01:48Here in Batanes, we expect light to moderate rainfall due to the effect of northeast monsoon or wind.
01:56Meanwhile, in the northern and central Luzon,
01:59such as Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and the whole central Luzon area,
02:06we expect gloomy weather.
02:08And it is also possible for moderate to at times or moderate to sometimes heavy rainfall
02:15due to the effect of this shear line.
02:18In the northern part of Luzon, in Metro Manila, Calabar Zone, Bicol Region, as well as in Mimaropa,
02:25we expect partly cloudy to partly cloudy.
02:29So, generally, we expect fair weather conditions.
02:32So, if there is rain, it is just temporary or sudden rainfall due to localized thunderstorms.
02:40As for the temperature forecast for the surrounding cities,
02:43here in Luzon, the maximum temperature will reach 31 degrees Celsius.
02:50In Baguio, it will range from 17 to 23 degrees Celsius.
02:54We expect a maximum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius here in Togigaraw.
02:5930 degrees Celsius for Legazpi.
03:01Also in Metro Manila, the maximum temperature will range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:08Here in Tagaytay, the maximum temperature is expected to range from 22 to 29 degrees Celsius.
03:16As for the weather forecast for the southern part of our country,
03:22in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
03:25we expect generally fair weather conditions.
03:29So, there are chances of sudden or temporary rainfall due to localized thunderstorms that do not last long.
03:37It is possible that it will last for 15 minutes to 3 hours.
03:41And we expect that the temperature will rise for the surrounding cities for Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao area.
03:4831 degrees Celsius maximum temperatures.
03:50We expect high temperatures for Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa.
03:55Also for the surrounding cities here in Visayas,
03:58over Iloilo, 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:0131 degrees Celsius maximum temperatures are also expected here in Cebu and Tacloban.
04:08Meanwhile, here in Zamboanga, the maximum temperature will range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:1624 to 31 degrees Celsius for Cagayan de Oro.
04:1932 degrees Celsius maximum temperatures for Metro Davao.
04:25As for the sea level, we have gale warning or warning for high waves
04:31that are high in the coastal areas of the northern zone,
04:34particularly in the coastal areas of Batanes, Cagayan,
04:38along with Babuyan Islands, Isabela, and Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
04:43We expect high waves in the so-called coastal areas.
04:47So it is very dangerous, especially for our fishermen,
04:52especially for those who have small fishing boats.
04:56Our sunrise today is 6.22 a.m. and it will set later at 5.40 p.m.
