00:00Despite our reluctance and our fear of giving positive news, today we have positive news.
00:12The estimated incidence of cancer, we think, is increasing with more and more accuracy
00:17thanks to the improvement of the coverage of the tumor records,
00:21which now, with Airtum, cover 80% of the regional territory.
00:25The incidence has not increased compared to the last quarter.
00:28This is good news.
00:30Another good news is that the alarm spread in the international media
00:34about the possibility that there is an out-of-control cancer phenomenon in young people
00:39is not confirmed in Italy, because we have a reduction of mortality in those who become ill before the age of 50.
00:46We cannot be happy, at the end of the day, with the photography of the risk factors.
00:51They are still too widespread.
00:53Habits that can change, such as smoking.
00:56Smoking is a reason why IOM remains very focused on supporting the campaign against smoking,
01:03because lung cancer is still a huge problem,
01:07and drastically reducing smokers must be our goal.
01:11For this reason, we support the campaign for the drastic increase in the cost of smoking products.
