(Adnkronos) - In Italia circa 500mila persone vivono con una diagnosi di tumore del sangue. Queste sono persone in cui la malattia è cronicizzata “e, grazie ai farmaci, riescono ad avere un'aspettativa di vita simile alle persone che non sono ammalate. Questo è un successo dei medici e dei farmaci. Però quello che non va bene è che invece aumentano i casi di tumore e di leucemia. Questi casi hanno una genesi che ha a che fare con l'ambiente e l'aumentata aspettativa di vita, ma acqua, terra e aria sono veicoli di inquinamento, causa di malattie cardiovascolari e polmonari”. Sono le parole di Giuseppe Toro, presidente nazionale Ail, Associazione italiana contro leucemie, linfomi e mieloma, a margine della quarta edizione del Convegno nazionale organizzato da Ail, a Roma, su ‘Curare è prendersi cura. Impatto ambientale e rischio sanitario, benessere e stili di vita’.
